I decided to showcase this popular park prior to the next heavy rainfall, as it’s located in a flood control basin. One of the largest lakes in LA, here’s a multi-purpose body of water within a beautiful landmark park! Locals take walks together on the sidewalk around the lake, often with their dogs. Freshwater fishing is a pastime of many here. Visitors may also stop by as a public resting place along the way. Film makers may find this location advantageous with its large flat open space, less distractions and beautiful background scenery. There’s plenty of wide open space and tree shaded and covered areas for gathering. Picnicking is welcome with tables and benches. It’s near the flight path of Van Nuys Airport so flight enthusiasts they enjoy seeing the small planes fly overhead. Unfortunately, this body of water is not for swimming except for the waterfowl. Nor is this beautiful parkland available for camping. Unfortunate also that the park may be flooded with any good amount of rain, so enjoy it when dry, otherwise it be closed with the downpour!

Review summary: Lovely aspects with some garbage issues. Great spot for dogs but zero poop bag stations. This is a 3.75 star experience with 5 star potential. Full review. Large park with a big pond, small lake in the middle of it. Walking trail around the water with lots of spots to stop and take in the tranquility. It's a busy park so get there early if you prefer a more subdued experience. Food trucks and many tents serving their wares. Food, trinkets, religion if you want it. Multiple bathroom buildings. Large playground area for the kids. Lots of flora (big hardwood trees, grass and open spaces. There is a lot of good to take in here but there are some issues that for me was a problem. First, it's the valley so i wasn't surprised but was still disappointed to see overflowing trash bins and trash scattered in various spots along the walking path. Also, and this is stupifying, no stations with dog waste bags. Stunning to me. Dozens and dozens of dogs while I was there and it's a great spot for them to enjoy but not having dog bags available is unforgivable. That alone was worth the 1 star subtraction with the garbage also pulling the review score down. There's plenty of parking and lots to do and enjoy with the two caveats I mentioned. We'll be back and plan on eating something from one of the vendors next time

Anthony C. Beilenson Park, is a serene retreat perfect for families, nature lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts. The park features picturesque walking trails, a tranquil lake for pedal boating, and plenty of open space for picnics or casual sports. The well-maintained playground is a hit with kids, while the peaceful scenery offers a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. With its variety of amenities and natural beauty, it’s a great spot for a weekend outing or an afternoon unwind. If looking for cherry blossoms, come in May

beautiful big lake with a walking trail all the way around. there’s swan paddle boats you can rent, as well as a sports court and a cute playground. there are many gazebos along the lake with a tree for shading, there’s no lack of seating. the ducks and birds are so cute and silly. there’s several vendors selling food like fruit cups and shaved ice. awesome place.

A great park for family outings! There's a fantastic BBQ area, perfect for gatherings with friends and family. Kids will love the well-equipped playgrounds. There's also a lovely pond where you can fish and relax. Everything is clean and well-maintained. We'll definitely be back!
