💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • **Plan for restrooms:** Be prepared for no permanent restrooms; utilize nearby shops/gas stations or inquire about the mobile restroom's current availability.
  • **Bring dogs on leash:** Ensure all dogs are kept on a leash as per park rules.
  • **Consider child's age for playground:** If visiting with 3-4 year olds, manage expectations for the playground and consider if they are closer to 5-6 for better enjoyment.
  • **Pack for a picnic/BBQ:** Utilize the provided grills and picnic tables for family meals.
  • **Bring fishing gear:** If interested in fishing, remember that motors must be under 10 RPMs and fishing is not permitted from docks or boat ramps.
  • **Explore different activities:** Beyond the playground, take advantage of the trails for walking, biking, or wildlife viewing.

Things to Consider

  • Lack of permanent restrooms; one reviewer explicitly states 'no restrooms' and had to drive to nearby shops/gas stations, though another mentioned a 'mobile restroom' potentially indicating temporary or inconsistent availability.
  • The newly upgraded playground may not be ideal for 3-4 year olds, being described as 'too simple or too advanced' for this age group, potentially better suited for children closer to 5 or 6 years old.

Lakewood Park has something for almost everyone. There is fishing as long as you're not on a dock or boat ramp. Boats with motors under 10 RPMs are allowed on the lake. There is rowing, which is always fun to watch. There are hiking, walking trails and biking trails. Dogs and kids are welcome. As long as the dogs are on leash. There are some wild areas where you can actually see wildlife such as raccoons, possums, armadillos, and the occasional coyote and bobcat.

This park has basketball court, Barbecue grills, picnic tables, park benches, dog trails and a parking area. Play area slides 🛝, sit and spin, stand and spin, see-saw, climbing nets, spring riders are sturdy and super strong. My kids had a great time at this park. There are no restrooms at this park. We had to drive to near by shops / gas stations for restrooms.

Used to really enjoy the playground here but the new upgrade is either too simple or too advance for my 3-4yr olds. Park is still beautiful and fun to explore. Perhaps when my kids are closer to 5 or six they might be able to enjoy the playground more.
