a year agoVisited to see options for membership looks to be a well run sailing club with programs for building sailing skills for children. Family membership includes a spot to keep your small boat parked at facility. This club has a history back to 1929 which is impressive. They have a launching ramp and also a hoist to assist in getting launched. The clubhouse looks out on beautiful reservoir with picnic and children's play areas. They have organized socials and one design racing for competition.

2 years agoNice people, great view from a large porch, efficient boat logistics/launching, excellent opportunities for kids to learn to sail or even become regionally competitive in junior and high school regattas.

2 years agoI put my son in the Learn to Sail summer camp program 21 years ago since he was too old for daycare and as a working mom I wanted to give him a fun summer. He liked it so much he progressed to the racing team. His life became all about sailing, so I then had to take sailing classes myself to have a common interest with him. That progressed to boat ownership and sailboat racing myself - not too bad for an out-of-shape adult lady! Today LYC is a second home. The clubhouse has a large porch that sits right on the water, the Friday night potlucks are so much fun, and Sunday racing is great - both for the sailors racing and for those who just want to sit on the porch and watch. The play area is fun for kids and many a child has grown up at the club. It is a great place to sail, to learn to sail, or to just sit on the porch and watch the boats and enjoy the water and scenery.

4 years agoWe stopped in there by boat to see what facilities they have. I don't have any knowledge of how the yacht club is organized or operates but the the size seems to be adequate for the smaller sailboats that most people have. The interior space is nice and they have a good outdoor seating area. I plan to go back and visit rhem on a Sunday afternoon when they have races to learn more about it. I was heavily involved in sailboat racing in Florida during the seventies eighties and nineties and am intrested in possibly joining this group.

3 years agoWe have been members for a year and a half. Great people and family friendly. If you want to learn to sail this is the place. If you are a sailor and want to race this is a great facility to join.
