5 months agoA stop for me and friends at least once a month. Easy early morning parking with amazing staff, and a rad facility. Big, spacious bouldering area with solid setting. I work for a climbing gym, and I'm always wearing LBR apparel at work, so stop by their Pro Shop and check out the gear. Make a trip and stop by soon, well worth your time.

a year agoLove this climbing gym. The staff are amazing, super helpful, there are classes and free resources with membership to teach you bouldering, fitness, yoga and more. The bathrooms have a sauna, showers, full facilities. I train in the gym which overlooks the climbing area and has everything I need to lift and do mobility work. The walls are impressive and even the retail / lounge space is dope and has everything you could ever need. Filtered water machines, snacks, drinks and all sorts of boards and extra gear to specialize your training as well. Been here over a year and it has made me a much better climber. Easily my go to choice to escape. The upstairs is free to kids and others to try, they run local events, reward for riding your bike and all sorts of other community programs and that's really special. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the weekend hours. I've got more time on the weekends and would climb a lot more if I could get in on a Saturday or Sunday night after 6pm. But overall this is my favorite membership facility I've had in a long time and when I bring friends they're stoked about the whole experience. Thank you LBR.

4 months agoOne of my favorite climbing gyms in socal. The staff here are always chill. The facility is clean. The settings and holds are very fun. The wall is beautiful but also has great friction to smear. Love the semi outdoor workout area.

3 months agoThis gym was damn near perfect about 2 even 1.5 years ago. Contrary to the most recent reviews, the quality and the quantity (especially the quantity) of the problems have decreased quite drastically about a year or 1.5 years ago due to a lack of route setters and/or lazy route setters. And above is precisely why a few people I used to climb with have switched gyms and so will I soon. Pros: clean, good staff, cool people Cons: way too many comp problems (personal preference), walls are often lacking problems, quality of the problems has gone down (which you probably won't notice if you haven't been climbing here for that long)

3 years agoWhen I first moved to Long Beach I was craving a climbing gym with a tight knit community like Long Beach Rising. When the gym opened I was blown away! The community and staff at the gym has become like a second home for me! The quality of the setting is second to none and everything is constructed with detail and creativity. This gym is the real deal. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed. 5 stars.
