Luminari

My experience with Luminari began as a camper, where I was introduced to the world of public speaking and presentation. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and gave me the confidence to speak up and listen actively, especially as I was just starting speech and debate at my high school at that time. Returning as an intern was a full-circle moment for the Ambassador camp. I had the chance to support the next group of campers and leaders, share what I had learned, and grow into a leadership role myself by promoting diplomacy, leadership, and critical thinking about global issues. Being an intern taught me how to lead with empathy and professionalism while continuing to learn from the incredible mentors and campers around me. Luminari helped shape the way I communicate, work with others, and see the world. As an undergraduate student on the path to becoming a healthcare leader as a medical doctor, the ability to speak confidently, think critically, and connect with people from different backgrounds are all essential qualities in medicine, and it was at Luminari where those seeds were first planted. I’m incredibly grateful for how this camp helped set me on a path toward a career rooted in service, compassion, and global awareness.

Pilar is a wonderful graphic designer who is extremely dependable and always willing to go the extra mile!
