5 months agoMarshy point has nice trails that are color coded and it also has an area of turkeys and owls and vultures that they are licensed through the park service to keep. The vulture was taken from his nest by a dog and he got so used to people because they couldn’t find his family. So he couldn’t be let out into the wild. And here he is! Marshy point has many other activities as well!

4 months agoThere is so much to see and do here! Lots of activities for kids inside, and many events offered throughout the week. There are also animals to see outside and a play area. It's free to visit, other than some of the paid events.

3 months agoWell marked trails thru forest and marsh land. Pleasant views of the bay estuaries. Easy walking with very little grade changes.

7 months agoDelightful place with a wide variety of turtles and fish in tanks and a convalescing roaming duck inside the building. Staff, especially the ranger, was terrific. Even the bathroom has informative displays. There is a butterfly garden nearby and many easy hikes into the marshes and forests. Although the center closes at 5, the trails are open till sunset.

11 months agoWe love Marshy Point. This is the perfect place to go for a moment in nature. They have a few animals out front (Turkeys, an owl, a vulture and some birds), inside they have snakes, horseshoe crabs, a family duck, etc. They offer quite a few free events for kids to attend. We’ve come to a couple night hikes with campfires… they have guided nature hikes with naturalists who will show kids the different ecosystems and explain the different animals, etc. The main trail is paved and stroller friendly… the woody trails branch off the main trail and are well maintained. They have a butterfly house out back, and several picnic tables situated before the woods to have lunch or to read a book. They also have a canoe launch and canoes you can rent. It’s a beautiful place.
