12 months agoI was visiting from New York & this is such a cute little farm with a beautiful view! Loved walking around some of the trails & the trees here are gorgeous. Would definitely come back in the future. This was such a great walking workout. There’s no fee for admission but you can buy food for the animals with a free quarters at a dispenser. They have a hand washing station as well which is nice.

5 months ago10/10 would recommend. My 2 year old had a blast feeding the animals and just generally running a muck. We went in the fall and it was beautiful with all the foliage. But I imagine it’s pretty all times of year. Bonus points for the sinks to wash your hands after feeding the animals having WARM water. Fully expected it to be frigid.

4 years agoI have always loved coming to Maymont. I've enjoyed the unchanging nature of the... well, nature, and the incredible and up close animal attractions. My wife and I visited for years before we brought our two little ones. This is a truly unique treasure of Richmond. There's multiple trails of varying difficulty and several distinct areas to enjoy. The Italian and Japanese gardens are a favorite of ours. If you don't see something photo worthy, I'm worried about you. The best part of this place is the history. It was land donated for the use and enjoyment of everyone for free (please donate if you enjoy it as much as we do). We'll continue to visit and recommend to friends for as long as we can.

2 years agoI've been going to Maymont since I was a baby. It never gets old and it's beautiful any time of the year. My own kids love the children's farm and feeding the goats. They love walking the path to see if the bobcat, fox and bears are out. There are also elk, deer, eagles and more. Then of course their favorite is walking thru the Japanese gardens and across the stepping stones. It is fun for all ages. You can even tour the mansion. There are also special events like the Maymont glow which is fun as a family or girl night. You can take a quick walk or spend the day there. It is truly a treasure in Richmond.

3 years agoEnjoyed visiting the farm with kids. Beautiful farm in the middle of the city. The entry is free with suggested donation of $5. Only got to see domestic /farm animals and most of the wild animals and birds were taken out. Long walks and very hilly but beautiful sceneries.
