a week agoAbsolutely stunning views. Easy trail and a lovely place to fly kites. We had great time.

2 months agoThis easily wins the award for the best view for the least effort. A mere ten minute walk from your car provides a view of the entire San Jose metropolitan area plus the Santa Cruz Mountains. The trails are much wider than most places and this allows bikers and pedestrians to be friends. There is history here too, but discover this when you are there by reading the placards.

8 months agoThis trail is a joy to hike and offers stunning views that make you forget you're still in the city. I've enjoyed wild mustard blooms, watched people fly kites, even spotted monks taking in the scenery. It's a popular spot for photo sessions, and for good reason - the sunsets are breathtaking. Whether you're into wildlife, photography, or simply seeking peace and quiet, this trail has something for everyone.

a year agoIncredible location for both biking and hiking. As a regular biker, I’ve enjoyed relentlessly pushing up the steep (Warning: 20% grade at times) climbs while taking in the history (lots of info about John Montgomery) and outstanding views this place has to offer. Slopes and runs at the park are phenomenal, and really model a roller coaster ride, allowing epic speeds.

a year agoloved this trail. close to where i was staying. not that well known. gentle climb up and down through some hills. the recent rains meant green grass and poppy blooms. great sights of the bay area all around from the heights and the east bay hills on the horizon. strongly recommended for a leisurely stroll anytime. not more than a couple of hours at most. the fowler creek playground is close by and there are picnic spots around that. (only complaint - the official city trail maps are not updated and don't show this trail as open).
