8 months agoWe visited the farm today with our to be 4-year-old daughter and it was a lovely experience the alpacas are adorable and very soft. Our host did a fantastic job of walking us around her small farm and explaining her beautiful animals.

a year agoI’ve visited this alpaca farm twice: once for the open house day in the fall and once for the Black Friday shopping event. I’m sure I’ll go visit again sometime! The owner is really lovely and happy to talk to you about the animals, answer questions, etc. While this isn’t a petting zoo experience, it is an enjoyable and worthwhile stop for adults & children who love these adorable creatures. On both visits we enjoyed observing the alpacas & taking photos! As long as you aren’t expecting full access to the farm & the animals on the open house days, I think anyone visiting will really enjoy the experience!

9 months agoWe found this farm on Google and brought our two girls out for a visit on Saturday. The condition of the swamp…I mean pond in the front should have been a stark warning. It went unheeded, however and we proceeded to enter the property and parked. No sooner had the engine come to a stop, when a woman approached the car and asked the purpose of our visit and asked if we had an appointment. We shared that we brought our girls to visit the alpacas. We were rudely told that an event was taking place and they were not open. I got out of the car so the six year old could look at the alpacas in their enclosure. What a huge mistake! The woman came out very aggressively and said that they were closed. I apologized and was walking back to the vehicle, while she continued to verbally assault us stating we were not welcome at this time. I responded that I had already apologized and said I was sorry twice and was getting back to the vehicle, and that she really needed to relax. There is nothing threatening about a grandma and a six year old. What a horrifying way to treat people. When I learned they were closed I contemplated returning, however after that ugly outburst and treatment, we will NEVER return.

5 years agoGreat place to see and experience alpacas. I think everyone should have an alpaca experience! A lovely little local farm. Small gift shop where you can buy e alpaca wool items. Montrose Farms is impressive, and the owner is so kind. We went for the Farm Tour a few months and cannot wait to go back. The owner was beneficial and patient with our kids. I highly recommend everyone to go. Wow- as soon as we visited visited the farm, you can tell that Lori was in her glory. You can sense that the owner genuinely loves what she does on her farm. The way Lori r nurtures and cares for her alpacas and chickens ( you would think they were her house pets the way Lori gets up close to them and know each of their personalities!), the way the owner tends to her farm grounds, her knowledge of alpaca “by-products” that are only acquired safely without harm to her alpacas (you can tell that it is essential to her), the joy Lori gets with creating events that will make kids and adults smile - these vibes are all very apparent when you visit the farm. She was so beautiful with my little boys - giving them a personal tour, letting them feed the animals, walk the alpacas, etc. You can tell that the our entire family loves! If you are looking to spend a few hours outdoors with nature, exploring a small farm, meeting beautiful people, getting close to friendly, healthy and adorable alpacas, then this is the place to visit!!!
