Recently began taking Improv Classes at the New Conservatory Theater and it’s a great place. If you love intimate settings, fun loving people, and interactive fun, this is the place for you. There are several improv shows and classes available to the public. The theater is located on Van Ness and is in the basement of the building. There are three small theaters and a bar. The theater has been around for years and has produced some amazing art. Definitely check them out.

We enjoyed the play The Gulf last night (October 24th). It was a wonderful experience in a small theatre room. You were up close to the actors, it felt like you were in a living room. The play was well acted, a great script and was well described ahead of time. The staff were amazing as well. Highly recommend.

Just saw Ride the Cyclone with my wife and daughter. What an amazing show. It was our first time going to NCTC. What a wonderful and intimate theatre it is. Had a Q&A with the cast after. You don't get that in the bigger theatres. All staff that we had interactions with were very polite and talkative. We will definitely be back for more shows.

If your watching a show here, the seating side-to-side is really tight to one another, and the rows are also close together, so prepare to share intimate space with your neighbors. The nice thing about a small spaced theater is you can hear the actors very well, and see them as well.

I've seen several plays here and they never disappoint. In a great location close to Muni and Bus stops. One of the best places in San Francisco for queer content theater. The folks who run the show are amazingly kind and fun. They have two theaters down in a basement setting. There is an elevator for folks who dont do stairs. I highly recommend NCTC!
