a month agoIt states in the rules that people are required to take a cleansing shower before entering the pools and I noticed over half the women not cleaning themselves at all and getting in . I mentioned to one of them that it's in the rules and she signed and said really and pushed the button barely sprinkled water onto herself and was like there are you happy . I feel extremely disgusted so I mentioned it to the pool manager and she said there's nothing they can do about it. She's the manager it's her job to take these concerns seriously and it's literally as simple as putting up more signs on the doors or just mentioning it to people here and there. Peoples soaps and perfumes and deodorants can be very toxic and my 1 year old and every other child should not be digesting it because people want to be selfish or don't want to do there jobs. Me and my family will not be returning to the YMCA tell this issue is addressed properly.

4 months agoA month ago I would have given this Y a 4 star review. This Y has been basically a great place to go workout and swim and enjoy all the amenities. For the most part, it is kept clean and especially the pool area is checked for chlorine levels and kept clean. All the employees have mostly been helpful and friendly. The only reason now for the 3 star review is the fact they are dropping the Silver Sneakers program and not renewing the contract. All the employees keep telling me that the silver sneakers program is dropping the YMCA but, in fact, it is actually the Y here at the north Spokane that is dropping the Silver Sneakers. Why the miss information? Why are they trying to blame the silver sneakers program when it is actually the Y at north Spokane that is dropping them. I actually called Silver Sneakers and spoke to the head of the program and they told me that this YMCA is dropping the program. Why? Why are they dropping such a great program. Is it all about revenue? It helps the older generation stay in shape and helps keep us active. I’m confused at this discontinuation of such great program. But it is very sad that they blame silver sneakers for the drop when it is actually the Y. Seems to me they will lose a whole lot of patrons. Hopefully, they will re- think this decision for 2025.

3 months agoBeen a chartered member and have loved attending the group exercise classes almost daily for years, but other than the mid morning classes, there are less and less offerings every session. I am canceling my membership. I understand they can't find instructors, and they did that to themselves. I think the higher ups are not managing the Y to its potential.

a month agoSo I go to this wmca because it seems to be the only facility in Spokane that has everything working but my last few visits on my days off where I can travel the distance to come here the Jacuzzi is down get this it seems there team can't manage the chlorine levels on a daily I'm here now and they charge me a $20 daily fee first I only use the pool and jucuzzi and they don't even have to jucuzzi stable I'm starting to wonder why I go at all there is one more facility in Spokane on 57 th hopefully there better I'll let you know

5 months agoSeems like the rules at every YMCA are different when it comes to the pool. The lifeguards weren’t kid friendly, the rooms lighting was dim, the lazy river is broken and the janitor just kept staring at us.
