a month agoOur visit to Old Town in San Diego was spectacular. Visiting lots of museums around the old Town are many of the places have their history that is very interesting, many of the area buildings go back to the 18th century, some go back further. They have a miniature town setup that you can sée an overview of what it used to look like before our generation, very nice. It was a great day to walk around. Then went to a Mexican restaurant that makes tortillas on the spot with a window to see as they are being made. Had a great meal sorry no pic of the food but it was delicious.

a month agoYou should definitely check it out! It’s super scenic, free, and a great walk. There were lots of historic buildings, and the ones that weren’t stores had cool exhibits. There were also a bunch of restaurants and shops, so it felt like a theme park more than a state park. The historical info could’ve been a bit more detailed, but it was still really interesting. It’s definitely worth a stop in San Diego!

2 months agoIf you're into history architecture like me, you will like walking around here. It was really cool seeing the structures from the early 1800s and on and hearing and reading about Old Town San Diego. There is a lot to see and lots of places to shop and eat. We had a lot of fun spending the day here.

a month agoA section of town that I never knew existed although I had stayed in a hotel blocks away some years earlier. This park like area of a few city blocks moves you back 180 years to the times of colonial missions and expansion through America. The Commandants house from 1827 is well preserved and contains historical antiques of the time. Native cactus abound in the garden and nearby. Nearby you can see an old outside jail cell, made of iron sheets and bars, which would have been terribly uncomfortable in the sun, and a preserved Wells Fargo Stagecoach in the nearby Colorado House.

a month agoUnfortunately...the weather was quite gloomy BUT Old Town owes me nothing! Waiting to plan my next trip! Everything is in close proximity. We road the Amtrak train there. We took a Trolley 🚎 tour; expensive ($108 for 2 people 👀), but we enjoyed and it was very informative! The food, the shops...10+
