3 months agoIts a great little park. There are some grills on site, tables as well. Camping needs to be reserved, closed in winter season Trails are mostly easy, except the one that cuts straight to river from the park. That trail around 260 foot, >12 incline very rocky, descending is dangerous, ascending is stamina drain, but if you like challenges its an easy one. I added some pictures so you can see, its very short but definitely a climb. ( please do not throw garbage in the forests, its sad to see people throwing plastic bags & other stuff in parks..)

4 months agoA really amazing place to check out that I just happen to randomly find. My best friends & I went to see Poe's grave & then see a friend in Frederick after. We wanted to find a place to have lunch & boy did we find a place. Looks like there's a few areas to the overall park. The view is amazing & there is a trail down to the river. There was a fee of $4, which is totally worth it. They also offer campsites. There is a playground that is a decent size for the kids.

5 months agoVast woods and trails with access to Patapsco River and fantastic photographs. No matter what your photography skills/ technology, this place will make them look good. Union Dam trail was fun. Steep at times as you go down to the river but a must-do! Sit by the river and take in the calming sound of water rushing over rocks n pebbles accented by the wind rustling the leaves with occasional birds and rare annoying human chatter. All in all - perfect meditative afternoon on a Saturday or Sunday. Good workout as well so you are not wasting time. Bring water! Wear good boots that are slip resistant. A light jacket in Fall. And a friend or a pet. I will return.

5 months agoBeautiful public park area with gorgeous views! The pavilions are spacious and ideal for parties. There’s a playground, trails, and space for sports. The restroom facilities looked nice although we did not need to use them, they definitely looked better than other public parks! Overall, a beautiful space in the fall. Will be back in the spring!

4 months agoA beautiful place to take a hike. There are no clear pathways so you have to quite often make your own. The place is great for getting in touch with nature.
