a year agoA very good effort by a volunteer run group. A great winter addition to this beautiful park. The dagget house is open for tours for $1. Performances under tents. Santa doing pictures for $6 in the watercolor society building. Carousel open for rides. Hundreds of trees. Horse drawn trailer rides. Train rides. Decorations. One star less for potential. Hope the city supports this further. Long waiting list for trees means event had bigger demand than is supported. Schedule and website need updates. Great time and good experience with kids or just a winter stroll

a year agoMe and my family look forward to the lights in Slater Park every year!! On top of going to la Salette, this is a great place to walk around and enjoy the Christmas spirit all for free to the public. My favorite thing about this event is the trees- it's so touching to walk around and see as well as read some of the memorials. I've had some truly beautiful moments here.

2 years agoSuch a wonderful time. They did an excellent job and the hard work showed through every bit of the park. Free to enter and walk around! The train, the carousel, the little food tent, and the Christmas trees everywhere, like hundreds of them, all lit up. There were little houses that sponsored the event for scenery. So adorable! Santa was there too! There was a tent of elderly entertainers that put on a few dances, so funny. May go back again before Christmas!

a year agoThey had limited light displays, mostly all in memory trees. The area wasn't well lit, and the set up is poorly laid out. Along the main area you have places where people are suppose to stop and read or take photos but had a motor drawn trains and a horse drawn hayride where everyone was getting yelled at and beeped at to move out of the way. Despite the set up encouraging people to stop. The area were the train and horses were going should have blocked off so guests walking wouldn't have been in the way. Yelling at a mother with a stroller and two extremely young children for being all the way to the side of the pavement where they set up an area for photos and forcing her to move in front of the horses to get out to the other side was extremely dangerous on the event staffs part.
