2 years agoLove this playground, but not hardly any shade on the actual play structures so definitely have sunscreen and hats for the kids. The park is beautiful with the older/grown trees and great shade for a picnic, but the playground is not shaded and can get very hot mid-day. . I love that there is a nice sand pit and two separate play structures for both smaller and older kids to enjoy and swings. It's a very easy walk to the museums at Balboa and shares parking with the Fleet Science center.

3 years agoCute playground right by Balboa Park. I'm not a huge fan of sand at parks, I wish the whole play area had the rubber flooring. Plenty of swings and slides so my little one was happy. The parking lot is pretty big and there's nice grassy areas around. Bathrooms too but I don't know how clean they are because we didn't use it.
