Wide open dessert landscape. It's wild to see such a contrast of big city and nature. Trail was easy. There is no cover. So plan ahead for weather. It's a good place but not my favorite. It's great for being in town and getting to feel like you're not in town. Rock formations are fun.

Such a beautiful area!🤑😍🙌 Perfect weather for a lil Christmas hiking😎🌞 Plus, the crowds at this location were pretty slim, so plenty of parking too AND space on the trails. Other trails around the Valley are far busier on this holiday🎄🎁

Nice hike, easy, and slightly moderate if you make the top. Nice view of Paradise Valley high end neighborhoods. Limited restroom and parking but not too bad. Restroom spells bad a little but again not too bad. People do park on the road by the homes close by the parking lot if the lot is full. There are a lot of dogs and dog parents on that trail, so be aware. There is a nice gazebo with two large benches and table to rest or wait for your friends/family etc. It’s facing the parking

Really enjoyed the L.V. Yates trail. It was pretty easy for the first .8 miles then started to gain some elevation and turned into a fun little scramble. Definitely moderate but not hard and all ages/abilities friendly. My dog and I loved it. The views at the top were spectacular on both sides. You get nearly a 360 view of the surrounding area. The cacti were blooming and the entire trail was a sensory experiences of amazing floral and herbal fragrances. The park was not crowded in a Thursday morning, with lots of parking. Bathrooms were pristine clean.

This hike is mostly easy, with a slight challenge if you go all the way to the top. The trail offers a great view of the upscale neighborhoods in Paradise Valley, though parking and restrooms are somewhat limited. A gazebo with benches and a table near the parking lot provides a comfortable spot to rest or wait for others.
