5 months agoThis was my first time kayaking, and this was picturesquely awesome! On Sundays they offer free kayaking starting at 11am. Lineups starts before 10am. They also offer lockers to keep stuff which you don’t want to get wet. And mind you, you will get wet! So dress accordingly. And there’s no changing room here. If you’re 18+ , know how to swim, you can sign a waiver and get a free Kayak for 20min. If below 18, a guardian must accompany you and can double. You have to sign a waiver before kayaking. Route is beautiful. You can see the Manhattan skyline and Jersey skyline as well, even Statue of Liberty is visible. And please donate after the ride!

5 months agoThis is an awesome free activity (Saturday and Sunday) You get to go kayaking for about 20 minutes. There are lockers for you to put your belongings in. You will be asked to take your shoes off, unless you bring some water shoes or sandals.

5 months agoFinally got to try the free kayaking at Pier 26 on a Sunday morning after Labor Day. I didn't have to wait long to be suited up in a life vest, paddle in hand and helped onto a kayak. The water was a little choppy, but navigating with the paddle was fairly easy. It was my first time kayaking, and the guides were helpful in giving tips. They're at the dock and in the water, helping people who may need it. They say we're supposed to have 20 min on the water, but nobody checks. I had fun, I would do it again.

7 months agoFREE kayaking on the Hudson River with gorgeous views of downtown Manhattan and New Jersey. A must do in the summer in NYC. Note that they do not allow dogs on the kayak here. Also free lockers provided. You will get wet so dress accordingly.

a year agoVery unique transformation of this pier into a relaxing park with chairs benches and "beach style" chairs to relax. It's like being on the ocean without the motion sickness. Really enjoyable. And also they rent out kayaks here.
