3 months agoI loved it! Very open and spacious and only $10 for adults. I loved the bird area, and the fact that it wasn't just a caged space you see from the outside. You get to be in the dome with them. The sea lions and trainers put on an amazing show, and the animals all roamed around in their own spaces with barely any glass walls and cages. I have never been so up close to a llama and feeding the goats and ducks was a real treat. Would definitely go again, this time with a stroller for my little one, though 😏

3 months agoBRING QUARTERS FOR PETTING ZOO FOOD. We enjoyed a sunny day spending a couple hours at the zoo. The petting zoo area is impressive, and still uses quarters, what a steal! A manageable size zoo and fun for the kids! We saw almost all the animals, and sea lions were active even though we didn't go to the feeding. No close subways here, so you'll need a car or figure out the different buses. Bring your water bottles, enjoy!

2 months agoSpent an hour and half here on a Saturday afternoon in December with my daughter. It was wonderful. Easy to navigate. We loved the Elk, ducks and mountain lions. The bears and bison were great too. It was a very enjoyable outing.

5 months agoThe Queens Zoo is a delightful escape in the heart of the city, offering a perfect blend of nature and wildlife. Despite its relatively small size, the zoo is thoughtfully designed, making it easy to navigate while providing a rich and diverse experience. The animal exhibits are well-maintained, and you can tell the animals are well-cared for. The variety of species—from the playful sea lions to the majestic bison—keeps things interesting for visitors of all ages. One of the highlights is the aviary, where you can get up close with a variety of beautiful birds in a peaceful setting. The zoo also has a charming farm area, perfect for younger children to interact with friendly farm animals. The staff is helpful and informative, eager to share their knowledge about the animals and conservation efforts. Overall, the Queens Zoo offers a serene and educational experience that’s perfect for families or anyone looking to enjoy a day surrounded by nature and wildlife. It’s a hidden gem that’s definitely worth a visit!

5 months agoStopped here on a 6 hour layover at LaGuardia. It was the perfect way to kill some time. We got in a nice little walk, there was plenty of shade, and the animals were out and about and visible. The zoo is small, but perfect for a mellow visit. There was almost no one there when we went on a Tuesday afternoon. It was pretty perfect.
