a month agoFantastic, knowledgeable staff compliment the store’s offerings nicely. Competitive sales are frequent enough to allow beginners of a variety of outdoor activities to save up and get great gear at good prices. Also, the once-for-life membership fee is an incredible offer and the ability to rent gear, or sell gently used gear back, has expanded the retail store’s attractiveness.

4 months agoI recently visited the REI store in Pineville and had a fantastic experience. Jessica provided exceptional customer service, helping me find the perfect travel clothing. She was patient and knowledgeable, understanding my needs and expertly guiding me to the right options. Jessica made shopping enjoyable and stress-free. Her dedication to customer satisfaction is commendable. I highly recommend visiting this REI store and seeking out Jessica for assistance. She's kind, helpful, and clearly an expert on REI clothing products. Thank you, Jessica! You ROCK and I hope REI knows how lucky they are to have you.

3 years agoREI is great. So many fabulous things that you can't find elsewhere. The service is great. They are also doing great with Covid, still have a good one-way flow in the store in May of 2021. All staff are wearing masks. I love that they guarantee their products and the co-op aspect of the business.

4 months agoIt's time for Christmas returns. I don't post about stuff like this normally, but wanted to make sure others don't encounter the same issues that i just did. We received 4 identical shirts (one for each family member) from a relative as Christmas presents. The shirts were not the right size or style so we were going to return them for credit to REI and get something else from the store that we wanted. It so happens that this relative bought 8 of these shirts in two transactions, 4 went to Colorado along with the receipt for 6 of the shirts. When we tried to return two shirts with a receipt for two shirts, we were denied saying the receipt was for a different shirt (they gave credit for 1). Please see picture of REI brand shirt with the tags still on it. They would not take it back for store credit (the exact same shirt as the one they did take back) saying they needed proof of purchase. I spoke to the manager and got nowhere. When you encounter companies that make your life more difficult, you have a choice to go elsewhere. It's too bad companies like REI take advantage of Christmas purchases citing return policies that ensure 100% satisfaction guaranteed, then don't let members come in for simple returns or exchanges with the liklihood that they will spend more money. It's very short sighted and pushes people like me, who purchase the brands they carry, to visit other companies that will work with you to make things right.
