a month agoThis place is a hidden gem I enjoyed the nice breeze and the trees ! ! If you love nature and hiking go! I went around 3:00 pm on a Saturday, thankfully we were not charged. It was first time going here I asked a local where to start, she was very helpful and said there was two entrances. Local said takes about 3 hours going up and coming back 6 miles total . Is easy to follow the path a lot of steps going up, we passed a small river with a bench to sit. It was nice to relax with the breeze and sound of water. Is easy to turn around and go back if you're tired. It was not so sunny but there's plenty of shade. Reason for 4 stars there was not a lot of scenery mainly trees. Tips: Take water Good shoes Sun glasses Comfortable clothing Parking: I was confused but you park on the side of the road behind other cars, and there's also a small park Woodlands Park that has restrooms. I parked there, local said they don't tow. She also said during the weekends they normally charge $10 dollars but after 2 or 3 pm attendants leave and don't charge. Weekdays is free.

a month agoRiver Place Nature Trail – A Perfect Escape into Nature River Place Nature Trail is an absolutely amazing spot for hiking and unwinding from the hustle and bustle of city life. The trail offers beautiful scenery, a great workout, and a peaceful escape into nature. Whether you’re looking for a challenging hike or just a place to reconnect with the outdoors, this spot delivers. I highly recommend stopping by and experiencing it for yourself. It’s a perfect place to clear your mind, enjoy the fresh air, and take in the stunning surroundings. Definitely a must-visit for nature lovers!

a month agoOut of all the trails we’ve been on in Austin, River Place Nature Trail is the closest to a true “hike”. Friendly warning that there is a $10 fee per person on the trail during “peak hours” which really just means weekends. The trail itself is very immersive as you traverse forested paths and some lofty climbs and steep declines. This 2.5 mile trail is definitely a cardio workout but was a fun one at that. In terms of hikes with views it is definitely lacking as there was no true peak that provided a lookout. The entrance to the trail was beautiful however so I would assume that’s where the upkeep fees go. Altogether this is a challenging trail but to us it just wasn’t worth the $10 ultimately without the true payoff of a stunning view.

a month agoLovely walking trail in a posh neighborhood. If there is an attendant present the cost is $10.00. If no-one is present then there is no fee. Some easy trails and some harder ones. Be sure to take water.
