💡Pro Tips from Reviews
- →Be highly vigilant about supervising young children, especially near the main entrance gate, due to security concerns.
- →Carefully inspect the playscape's ropes and netting upon arrival for any loose sections that could pose entanglement risks.
- →Manage expectations regarding the arcade; it's likely many games will be non-functional and prize options limited.
- →For birthday parties, obtain clear, written confirmation of your booking details, including specific access to space, to avoid issues like being turned away or having your party interrupted.
- →Consider visiting during off-peak hours if cleanliness is a high priority, as detailed reviews point to significant maintenance and cleaning issues.
- →If cleanliness is a major concern, it may be advisable to bring your own hand sanitizer and be prepared for potentially unsanitary conditions in some areas.
Things to Consider
- ⚠Significant cleanliness issues: visibly worn, bumpy main play area carpets filled with dust and debris, dust bunnies accumulated in corners and around play structures, and outdated, often unclean bathrooms. This raises concerns about overall sanitization and seasonal sicknesses.
- ⚠Facility appears noticeably tired, run-down, and in need of general upkeep and modernization.
- ⚠Arcade is poorly maintained with nearly half of the games non-functional, and the prize selection is disappointing.
- ⚠Safety hazard: loose 'ropes/netting' in two sections of the playscape hang in large loops, posing a risk of limb, head, or neck entanglement for small children.
- ⚠Security risk: the main entrance gate is too easy for small children to open, which is a significant safety concern for wandering kids.
- ⚠Inconsistent party management: parents have been reportedly kicked out of their own paid parties or turned away due to private parties, with unaddressed miscommunications from management.
- ⚠Staff professionalism and presentation could improve due to a lack of dress code, leading to an unpolished appearance and difficulty identifying employees.
- ⚠The overall experience and condition of the facility do not match expectations for its current pricing.

2 months agoRochester Play has the potential to be an outstanding family destination, but unfortunately, it has become noticeably tired and run-down over the years. While it remains an enjoyable space for my children, its lack of cleanliness, upkeep, and overall excellence make the experience less appealing. One of the biggest concerns is the lack of cleanliness and maintenance throughout the facility. The main play area carpets are visibly worn, bumpy, and filled with dust and debris, indicating the need for more thorough and frequent deep cleaning. Dust bunnies accumulate in corners and around the play structures, highlighting a lack of effective cleaning equipment. The bathrooms are outdated and often unclean, which can be off-putting for families expecting a more sanitary environment. I would highly encourage a Kirby vaccum!!!!! Can tell they using an outdated piece of equipment. I was up in the tubes and tunnels and wished I had a handheld vaccum with me to suck up all the dust. Cleanliness should be RP’s #1 priority. If these little, easy tasks are not being accomplished then that makes me feel that their is a lack of deep cleaning happening when it comes to the overall sanitization of the rest of the place and that makes me more concerned because of seasonal sicknesses and infection. Additionally, the arcade is in need of significant improvements, nearly half of the games are non-functional, and the lack of selection of prizes is disappointing. For the price point, a better-maintained arcade experience would add significant value. This place should have more for adults too. Like an in house barista and a more modern, updated seating area. So much potential!!! Another major concern is security. The main entrance gate is far too easy for small children to open, which poses a safety risk. Implementing a more secure entry system would provide parents with much-needed peace of mind. The staff professionalism and presentation could also use improvement. There is no dress code, leading to an unpolished appearance and a lack of who actually works there. A more structured and professional approach to staffing would enhance the overall guest experience. For a facility in Rochester with its current pricing, the overall experience does not match expectations. However, with minimal updates, deep cleaning, and stronger leadership, Rochester Play could truly reach its full potential. A commitment to cleanliness, security, and guest experience would transform this space into a 5out of 5 play center.

a year agoI took my kids and niece (5,3, and 1) for the Noon Years Eve event. This was our first time going to Rochester Play and it did not disappoint. The girls had a blast. Even my one year old was able to climb many things. Even with the event being sold out the staff was on top of it and very accommodating. The cafe was quick and had a very large selection. Everything was clean. The balloon drop at noon was awesome and the kids loved it.

2 months agoThis place is great. We were thinking to use them for a birthday party. However we went a couple weeks ago and were disappointed in the upkeep of the playscape. In 2 sections of the playscape there are loose “ropes/netting” where the kids climb to get up to the slide that is hanging in a large loop. I could see a small child getting a limb stuck/tangled or head/neck stuck. Just concerned. I hope they fix those 2 spots.

3 months agoAs much as I want to love this place, they’re working to make me not. Twice now we’ve been kicked out of our own party that we paid for, or turned away because of a private party. In my opinion if they just had a separate space for private parties all would be well. A manager was supposed to call me to discuss the miscommunication regarding being kicked out of our own party and she never did. The owner seems like a nice man but something needs to change.
