2 weeks agoCame to Sacramento to Visit my in-laws. We thought it would be awesome to experience the Sacramento zoo. The kids enjoyed it specially my 4 years old. He was amazed specially with the Giraffes. You’re able to feed them. I would love to come again next time I visit.

a month agoI gave this zoo 5 stars because it is clean, knowledgeable and friendly staff, accommodations for disabled and sensory sensitive people's. I've been here many times throughout my life. It's not a big zoo and doesn't have a lot of animals, but they do have a variety. Several big cats, rhino, zebras, okani, red panda, two toe sloth, a few kinds of lemurs, giraffes with a viewing deck and option to feed them as well as meerkats, capybaras, birds etc and a reptile house. A full restaurant and while I feel it's a bit pricey their portions are huge. They also let you bring in food so not a big deal. They have a nice playground for littles and a carousel. My 2 year old had a blast. The paths can be rough but workable. It is an older zoo. I think it'll be better if they can get started on the new one in Elk Grove. It's a great park for being a smaller zoo. Still bigger than Folsom. I enjoy it. Plenty of bathrooms and there's a 50% off discount for disabilities, but you have to buy at the gate. I would suggest buying tickets a week or more ahead of time online though to get the best regular price.

3 weeks agoWe had an amazing time! There were keepers out at most major exhibits talking to visitors and telling us about the animals. They were so friendly and knowledgeable. The zoo was clean and easy to navigate. My son loved the carousel and train. Most of the animals were easy to see and the food was REALLY good!

4 weeks agoThe kids loved it! We went on a drizzly Thursday afternoon and got to see all the animals except the orangutans (they must have been napping somewhere). The carousel is only $3 per child with chaperoning parents riding free, so that was totally worth it for my 3 and 4 year-olds. Bring your own stroller or wagon because the ones you can rent there are not cheap! I hear the zoo is moving, so check ahead for open hours.

2 weeks agoVERY ACCESSIBLE This cozy zoo is very accessible. The website says the zoo has been there since 1927! It is just off of the highway. Free parking is within William Land Park which is where you will find this zoo. PURCHASE POWER I highly suggest you reserve and purchase your tickets ahead of time because you may find a better price and it helps the park maintain public flow which enhances everyone’s positive experience. You receive an email with a PDF ticket and then show the clerk upon entering. Easy. SPECIAL VIEWING TIMES There are add-ons for a heightened experience that one can tack on to the cost and special events so check their website. At certain exhibits, they post signs telling what day and time it is good to return for special viewing. ANIMALS I enjoyed meandering throughout the zoo and looking at the animals and people watching too. There are maps posted so you can take a snap shot of it and look at it from your phone. It is nice to hear the excitement of the children as they see all the different animals and learn about them too. I enjoyed all of the different facts posted about each animal. It was nice to see how much has been donated by the community and visitors so that the zoo can expand. It will be fun to check back and see how it all changes. Great spot for families!
