We had such a wonderful time at the Safari Park! I went with my 12-year-old, and we made sure to arrive early, right when the park opened. It was totally worth it—parking was super easy. We got a spot close to the preferred parking and the entrance, and there was no line to get in. We went straight to the Africa Tram first, which was worth doing immediately. After that, we explored different parts of the park and enjoyed every bit. One highlight I recommend is planning to catch the Wild Journey show—it was an amazing experience! The only extra ticket I purchased was for the butterfly exhibit, which was $18. It was so worth it! Peaceful, beautiful, and a great photo op. Highly recommend this park for families—it’s a full day of adventure and nature!

I haven't been here in years.Had a great time. Going on the weekday was fantastic, with fewer crowds. For the first time ever, I got an electric vehicle. Due to some health issues and a lot of walking, but it was perfect. Can't believe my pride (& being cheap -$60) stopped me from getting it before. Definitely bring sunblock and a hat. Binoculars are not necessary if you have a phone that zooms pretty well, as that's what you're going to take pictures with anyway. Just follow the path & you'll be fine. The African Tram was cool & free. I can see the allure of the safari being in with the animals, but I already sprung for an electric vehicle preferred parking and the ticket. There are guides all along the way to tell you about the animals. They are super friendly and helpful. The churro fries are worth the calories. 😅

It’s always great walking around. This trip we focused on everything but the animals. Walked the garden temple, observed some 800 year old trees. Stopped for lunch and had the deli sandwich and flatbread pizza, both were excellent. This hippos are too impressive to not a take a picture. Great way to spend the day and get your steps in! Love coming here.

One of the most toddler-friendly destinations to explore while in San Diego is undoubtedly the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. If your little one has a fascination with animals, this park is the perfect place to immerse them in a world of wildlife and adventure. While parking can occasionally present a challenge, the walk to the main entrance is quite manageable and convenient. To enhance your experience, I highly recommend purchasing tickets online in advance, as this can save you valuable time and spare you the hassle of waiting in line. Additionally, the park is accommodating for families; you are welcome to bring food, strollers, and any essentials that parents like me need to ensure a successful day at the park with a toddler. For those children who enjoy splashing around, there is a delightful mini-water park located near the hot air balloon area. This fun attraction provides kids with the opportunity to play and interact with others, making it a perfect spot for them to cool off and expend some energy. Overall, a visit to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park promises a memorable and enjoyable outing for both parents and toddlers alike.

We had such a great time at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park! From start to finish, it felt like an adventure. The park is beautifully laid out, with wide open spaces and incredible views that make you feel like you’re actually out on safari. There were so many scenic spots to stop and take in the surroundings—it felt peaceful and exciting at the same time. One of the absolute highlights was the team. Every staff member we came across was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about the animals and the park. They were happy to answer questions and clearly cared about making sure everyone had a good experience. It really made the visit feel special. The animals looked well cared for and had plenty of space to roam, which we really appreciated. There’s something magical about seeing giraffes, rhinos, and antelope all out in the same open habitat. It’s not like a traditional zoo—it really feels immersive. If you’re thinking of going, do it. It’s fun, relaxing, and educational all at once. Great for couples, families, or even a solo visit. We left with full hearts and a bunch of new favorite memories.
