Seattle Canoe & Kayak Club

I started paddling with SCKC a few years ago and love the group! They have a brand new boat house on Green Lake and many styles of kayaks and canoes. They are also getting paddle boards. I joined one of the adult classes. There are classes for kids too. I had paddling experience before joining but it’s not necessary — lots of boat options and instruction. There are also opportunities to race, which is really fun! It’s a friendly and welcoming community. I’ll definitely continue to paddle with SCKC.

I used to paddle here. I believe that they are in these containers now but will soon move out when the rower's boathouse is finished.

Whoever was driving your power boat last night was putting out a big wake for a lake that is supposed to be free of motor boats. I had to help a SUPer who had been overturned by the wake and couldn't recover by himself. Please be safe out there and considerate of recreational paddlers!

The kayak classes were pretty fun. I don't think that I would take them again though.
