💡Pro Tips from Reviews
- →**Roped Climbing Alternative:** If your family prefers or requires roped climbing, be aware this location is bouldering-only and consider their El Segundo gym.

- →**Kids' Activities:** Inquire about specific 'kids hours' if bringing very young children to ensure age-appropriate programming.
- →**Cost-Saving:** Look out for 'reduced price climb nights' to potentially save on entry fees.
- →**Parking:** Be prepared to pay 'a few bucks' for parking in the Runway structure, or seek potentially harder-to-find street parking.
Things to Consider
- ⚠Weekend hours are limited; the gym does not open early (before 10 AM) or stay open late, which can be inconvenient for families seeking flexibility.
- ⚠It is a 'small' or 'small-ish' bouldering gym, which may feel crowded during peak times, although no specific crowding complaints were made.
- ⚠This location is bouldering-only, meaning no roped climbing is available. Parents seeking roped climbing would need to visit their El Segundo gym.
- ⚠Parking in the adjacent Runway parking structure incurs a small fee ('a few bucks').
Price & Value
Entry is described as 'reasonably priced'. The value is enhanced by frequently rotated, high-quality bouldering routes and access to unique training facilities like the Moonboard and Treadwall. 'Reduced price climb nights' offer additional savings a few times a month. An additional cost for parking ('a few bucks') should be factored in.
♿Accessibility & Special Needs
- •No specific accessibility accommodations were mentioned in the reviews.
🍎Food & Drink Policy

🚗Parking Info
- •Parking is available in the adjacent Runway parking structure for a fee ('a few bucks'), or on surrounding streets. Its location within the mall suggests convenient access but with a potential cost.
👥Crowd Levels
- •While described as a 'small gym', no specific complaints about overcrowding were noted. The limited weekend hours might suggest that peak times could feel busier, but this is not explicitly stated.

- •The use of colored rocks for different climbing levels provides clear guidance, which implicitly aids in safety by directing climbers to appropriate challenges.
- •As a bouldering gym, it implies the presence of crash pads for fall safety, though these were not explicitly mentioned.
- •No explicit mention of specific staff-to-climber ratio or dedicated safety supervision roles beyond generally friendly staff.
⏰When to Avoid
- • If your children prefer or require roped climbing, as this gym is exclusively for bouldering.
- • If you need early morning (before 10 AM) or late evening climbing options on weekends due to limited hours.

2 years agoReally enjoy having a local climbing gym. Generally feel that the routes are interesting, varied, and rotated out frequently enough that we are kept interested week to week as members. The facilities are also quite nice! Appreciate that there is a small gym. My and my husband’s chief complaint is that their hours are not well formulated, particularly on the weekends. We have consistently wished that we could come in early (before 10am — not really that early) or stay late on the weekends. Instead, later hours are only offered on weekdays. Our previous gym was the opposite; they were open earlier and longer on the weekends. We really miss having this flexibility!

5 months agoSmall gym but nice boulders. Definitely the best in LA in my opinion. New style boulders are available, the gym is clean, problems are not finishing just with a simple jug, route setting very various and interesting. On top of this even if the gym is small there is a moonboard 2024, a small workout place but complete enough to do any type of workout to complement and there is an endurance training treadwall. Also great feeling, nice people and good atmosphere.

2 years agoSender One at Runway in Playa Vista is a brand new bouldering/climbing gym! The rocks for each level of climbs are colored so you have suggestions for staying on course. They do a reduced price climb night a few times a month and a LGQBT night as well as other ongoing events. They offer kids hours for little ones and have a really fun tread wall! This gym is bouldering only so no ropes but if you’re looking for that, they also have a climbing gym in El Segundo with the ropes! You can park in the runway parking structure for a few bucks or on the surrounding streets!

2 years agoA small-ish bouldering gym, everything is very new and clean. Very friendly staff and reasonably price entry. The routes set are interesting with a decently sized area with weights and machines for training and cardio. They also have a climbing treadmill which is very cool.
