6 months agoNewer equipment, decent mix of age level appropriate designs. Very little shade, except perhaps in the late afternoon. Homeless population is definitely wandering around but so are lots of regular folks so it feels safe even if not ideal.

7 months agoFor the amount of money the city makes off of charging for parking downtown they really need to update this park! Considering balboa park is a main attraction for tourist we really need to do better “San Diego officials”!! My kids love it but the equipment has had hazard signs on it for months. My kids love to be daring and play on it but come on San Diego we need some leaders that can put the money to use to take care of our future leaders that play at the park!!! The other playground is even worse…let’s consider this when we vote!!!

3 years agoBeautiful park all around. The playground is not as big as the one on the east end of Balboa Park but enough structures and swings for small and bigger kids. Bathrooms close by, clean but seemed to be very busy.

2 years agoNice play structure, but do not count on the nearby public bathrooms here. Most were out of order and the others were disgustingly dirty. The grassy area on the other side of the bathrooms from the playground appears to be a favorite hangout for some of San Diego's unhoused, but no one bothered us when we were there.
