💡Pro Tips from Reviews
- →Always re-verify pool open lane times directly before visiting, as reported information can be inconsistent.
- →Check the schedule for swim teams and swim lessons if you plan to use the pool for general lap swimming, as these will affect availability.
- →Consider a membership if you plan frequent visits for yourself or your children, as the $10 walk-in fee for individual activities like pool access is considered high.
- →If using the free-weights area, be aware it's small and may be occupied, especially during peak times.
- →For swim classes, the facility is highly recommended due to separated age groups, good instruction, and staff levels.
Things to Consider
- ⚠Reported issues with water quality in the public swimming lanes, including murky water, dirt piles, and hairballs, suggesting poor circulation or maintenance for casual users.
- ⚠Inconsistent information provided about pool open lane times, leading to confusion and wasted trips.
- ⚠Walk-in fee for pool access is $10, considered steep compared to $3-$5 county rec centers.
- ⚠Free-weights area is small, generally accommodating only one to two people at a time.
- ⚠Hex-bar for deadlifting is available but not rack-able and is frequently in use.
- ⚠Some members in the lap pool are reportedly unwilling to share lanes, which can be an issue as there's no clear signage for lap sharing etiquette.
Price & Value
Walk-in pool access costs $10, which is noted as significantly higher than county recreational centers ($3-$5). Personal training packages are available, and a free session is included with membership. The value for membership seems high given the range of facilities, programs (child watch, youth programs, classes), and positive staff interactions, but daily individual activity costs can be steep.

- •No other specific safety features for the overall facility (e.g., wristbands, monitored entry/exit, first aid station) are explicitly mentioned in the reviews.
⏰When to Avoid
- • Casual public pool access if water clarity and cleanliness are a top priority, based on one highly negative review of the water quality.
- • Visiting for public lap swimming without checking the schedule for swim teams or lessons, as this will limit availability.

2 weeks agoMy normal pool was closed and this was my only option. I’m only writing a review on the pool. It sucks. First I called to see what time open lanes were available and they told me 12pm,I showed up at 12:30 and the lady said they weren’t open till 1pm… by the time I was checked in I only had to wait 15 minutes but when I got in the pool area people had already been swimming and some already getting out as if it had been open since noon. I got the run around on the time… I was a walk in which cost $10 which I think is steep. Most county rec centers are only $3-$5. Next, the water quality was horrible. You can’t hardly see to the other side underwater. You can see small piles of dirt at the bottom of the pool and hair balls the size of your mom. The point is, the water does not circulate very well or they just suck at maintaining the clarity. If you want a real pool to swim in Hollywood Aquatic Center is the place to go! I’ll drive the extra for better quality and a lower price.

a year agoHats off the staff members Cierra and Macie. I had a nice welcome from them and beautiful tour by Cierra. Established in 2011 I believe I was told but looks brand new inside with larger than Olympic sized pools and meeting space and large gym and 1/2 basketball court. See photos below and thank again ladies for the nice tour of the YMCA.

a month agoI am very pleased here. Staff are encouraging and supportive. More than most, this YMCA feels like "community." It is a very small YMCA. The average age is seemingly over 50 (which is likely why I love it here) 😁 there is a child watch, for younger mothers. There are also youth programs available, especially during the summer. They have all the expected cardio equipment, but very few, as per the space. I love the windows!!! they make the space feel open and spacious, even though it is limited square footage. The resistance machines are plentiful! However, the free-weights area is small'ish and only really allows for one / two people at a time, especially as members here often "claim" the full area using benches, floor, and rack loaded for a personal circuit, in my experience. I greatly appreciate that they have a hex-bar for safe deadlifting, but it is not a rack-able size, so I do not think you can use it for rack pulls, though I haven't had a chance to test that out. It is regularly already in use when I've been in. This location does have a nice set up for power lifting. I have not seen any powerlifting group training, but this location offers personal training and includes a free session with a membership. We have shifted to group fitness classes and LOVE these!!! They offer a HOST of group fitness classes. My favs are definitely yoga 🧘 and Zumba! 😅 (current class schedule included) The pool appears well maintained, but do pay attention to when swim teams and swim lessons are scheduled for. Most members are courteous when lap sharing is needed... I do wish this location had signage for that purpose though, because some members do not want to lap share 🤪 all in all... I like this location for the calmness and the classes and can HIGHLY RECOMMEND

a year agoThe swim classes were done well. Age groups were separated for different types of instruction. Appropriate number of instructors & lifeguards on hand. Overall the staff were friendly and the facility was clean. Would recommend this location. I cropped out children near me in the pic to show how they do this - basically it was one on one instruction.

2 years agoI use the fitness center 5x a week. This place welcomes everyone. From the front desk to the trainers, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Harold and Andre both manage the fitness center as well as provide personal training packages. They work with all ages. This is not a place you would ever feel embarrassed or shamed about your level of fitness. People of all ages use this fitness center. If you don't understand a piece of equipment, Andre or Harold will show you. They have times for teens and children. Seniors are welcomed and a big part of the late morning population. I love this YMCA. I've been to a few others around the area and none of them have that easy, friendly welcome vibe. Check it out.
