💡Pro Tips from Reviews
- →**Refunds**: Understand SOA's no-refund policy (credit only) for unrendered services by the organization before paying. Be prepared for potential financial loss if a program is cancelled or not delivered as expected.
- →**Communication**: Be proactive in seeking schedules and updates, as communication from coordinators may be non-existent or last-minute.
- →**Scheduling**: Prepare for significant game delays (15-30 minutes common) and last-minute schedule changes (e.g., game times 48 hours prior, field locations 15 minutes prior).
- →**Field Conditions**: Inquire specifically about the condition of the assigned fields and availability of restrooms/facilities, especially for "east side" locations.
- →**Attire**: Bring plenty of water and consider layering or lighter clothing, as thick, double-sided jerseys may cause overheating.
- →**Coaching**: Verify coach consistency and presence, as no-shows and insufficient coaching staff have been reported.
Things to Consider
- ⚠**Refund Policy/Financial Issues**: No refunds for services not rendered by SOA (e.g., cancelled teams due to coach bailing); only credit offered. Difficulty getting decisions from management (Director deferring to owner who "might not answer"). Accusations of the company using parent money to "float" (Review 1).
- ⚠**Organization & Communication**: Extremely unorganized operations. No set game schedules; game times sent out as late as 48 hours prior. Field location information provided just 15 minutes before games. Picture notifications given at 9 PM the night before. No communication from assigned coordinators (e.g., Ashley Burrell). Teams unaware of scheduled tournaments (Review 2, 3, 5).
- ⚠**Coaching & Staffing**: Coach no-shows for games and practices. One coach assigned to three different teams. Inadequate supervision/coaching (one coach for 20+ kids at practice). Referees consistently late. Lack of SOA representatives on premises during games (only one sighting reported) (Review 2, 3).
- ⚠**Program Execution**: Games consistently 15-30 minutes behind schedule, some cut short. Children gained "no experience" from the league due to disorganization (Review 2, 3, 5).
- ⚠**Facilities & Safety**: Terrible field conditions (e.g., "east side" field had long grass, stickers that drew blood). No restrooms available. Reports of gunshots heard near practice fields. Children getting overheated and almost passing out due to thick, double-sided jerseys in hot weather, requiring multiple water breaks (Review 3, 5).
Price & Value
Paid $115 for an 8U summer league, which was not delivered. Value is extremely poor for the majority of reviewers, as children gained "no experience" and services were either unrendered or poorly executed. The company's policy of offering credit instead of refunds for their own failures significantly diminishes value for money.

🛡️Safety Features
- •Adherence to COVID/CDC Regulations (mentioned in one positive review).
- •Significant safety concerns raised by other reviews: field hazards (stickers drawing blood), potential exposure to unsafe environments (gunshots), and children almost passing out from heat due to inappropriate attire (thick jerseys) and lack of water breaks.
⏰When to Avoid
- • If you expect reliable communication, consistent coaching, and adherence to schedules.
- • If you are unwilling to accept a "credit only" policy for services the organization fails to provide.
- • If field quality, safety (e.g., long grass, stickers, proximity to unsafe areas), and access to basic facilities (restrooms) are high priorities.
- • If your child is susceptible to heat-related issues, given reports of thick jerseys and no accommodations.
- • Any program specifically managed by coordinator Ashley Burrell or where Marcus is the point of contact for issues.
- • Any program located at the "east side" field.

3 years agoFraud, scam, and money grabber - reporting to BBB and others We paid $115 for 8U and they won’t give us a refund as they cannot render services we purchased (8U basketball) due to them not having a team after a coach bailed on them. They will take your money and they “might” find a team for you. If they can’t they will “credit you”. Attached are their terms and conditions and it does not describe when they are unable to render services. It does say when the player cannot participate. My son can and is ready. They are not. The Director, Marcus, said only the owner can make this decision. When I asked why can’t he contact him now he said “he might not answer”. There is no consideration for their brand or reputation based on their customer service form their directors. This organization made $699K in 2019 (IRS taxes) and the owner had 2 other businesses generating additional income. And they choose to not refund me $115? Based on their tax return this company is using our money to float and is why it keeps changing names and hiding behind “helping kids”. As a consumer I have a right to have services rendered as expected if not rectified. I’m asking for 0.01% refund of their annual income. They can’t even do that. Details: I signed up my son for an 8U summer league and

5 years agoDo not recommend. Extremely unorganized, one coach for three different teams, and she didn’t even show up to the last two weeks of games and practices. There was no set schedule to when games would be, and game times were not sent out until about 48 hours before games, making it difficult to make any other plans for the weekend. The referee was always late to the game, and there was only one game where a representative of SOA was actual on the premises. Not worth the money, no experience was gained for my child through this past season.

7 years agoLess than one star is what I would give this "organization". Not only are they not organized they don't seem to care what happens with your child or the sport they're in after they receive your money. My nephew played soccer for their 6U team and it was terrible. We were assigned a coach that never showed up to coach any of our games and at practice he would be "coaching" if/when he showed up over 20 kids at a time on one practice field. The association assigned us Ashley Burrell who was the worst coordinator. I nor any of the parents on the team upon talking to them received any communication from her. We were never notified when new soccer schedules were posted. We would receive field location information 15 minutes prior to when games were supposed to being and were not notified of team/individual pictures until 9:00pm the night before. Every game we played this season was at least 15-30 minutes behind schedule and some games got cut short because they were running so far behind schedule. The children would get so hot playing in their double sided thick jersey's that they were having to take multiple water breaks during game play. My nephew himself almost passed out from the heat. This "association" is a disgrace and never again will I sign up to play any kind of sport with them. It was so poorly ran that we might as well have set up two goals in someone's backyard and let the children just run around doing whatever. Steer clear from sending your child to this organization unless you and your child want to have a terrible experience.

7 years agoDo not waste your money or time. I should have read the reviews before enrolling my daughter. She loves soccer but got nothing out of this league. The field was terrible on the east side, long grass infested with stickers that drew blood from any one the fell. Not to mention the gun shots I heard while I took my daughter to practice early to play with her. NO Restrooms neither. And apparently there's a tournament tomorrow that our team was unaware of! The league is very unorganized!
