Expert Summary

Detailed Insights

Splash Indoor Waterpark Resort offers a convenient 'stay, play, and eat' experience when integrated with the Clarion hotel and its restaurant. It is best suited for families with younger children (under 10) who appreciate a dedicated indoor water feature, especially on days when it's not overly crowded.

Key Highlights

  • Integrated with the Clarion hotel and Streamers Restaurant, allowing for a seamless stay, play, and eat experience (Review 3).
  • Reported as clean and not too crowded on some occasions (Review 1).
  • Good size with plenty of water features for a day of enjoyment when less busy (Review 1).
  • Space is well designed (Review 5).
  • Staff reported as nice (Review 5).

Standout Features

  • Two slides, a splash pad, and a small obstacle course pool (Review 4).
  • Good-sized hot tub (though it fills quickly) (Review 4).
  • Beautiful location on the Oswego River and along the Riverwalk (Review 1).
  • Conveniently located inside the Clarion hotel with an attached restaurant (Streamers) (Review 3).

Perfect For

Primarily geared towards children 'under ten' (Review 4).
Children aged 7 & 10 enjoyed it for a while but got hungry after an hour due to food restrictions (Review 2).
Families with 4-year-olds will likely find age-appropriate activities, but 12-year-olds may get bored quickly due to limited attractions (Reviews 4, 5).

Ideal For

Families with children under 10 looking for a focused indoor water play experience (Review 4).
A convenient family getaway when staying at the connected Clarion hotel (Review 3).
Parents looking for a cleaner, less crowded experience on a rare off-peak day (Review 1).
Families seeking a quick riverfront activity or walk outside the waterpark (Review 1).

💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • Arrive well before opening or during off-peak hours to secure parking and seating (Review 2).
  • Bring extra cash or a separate credit card specifically for food and lockers, as gift cards are not accepted for these purchases (Review 2).
  • Do not rely on gift cards for food or arcade; confirm all restrictions before visiting (Review 2).
  • Be prepared for potential long waits for food orders if you plan to eat at the park (Review 5).
  • Consider the Clarion hotel for a 'stay, play, eat' package if convenience is a priority (Review 3).
  • If planning a visit during cold/flu season, be aware of potentially high capacity and crowded conditions (Review 2).

Things to Consider

  • Parking is a major issue; can be 'no parking spaces available', requiring parking 'very far away' and walking in cold weather (Review 2).
  • Can be 'insanely packed' and 'too many people', leading to no available seating, cloudy/warm pools, and difficulty finding children (Reviews 2, 5).
  • High admission price: $106 for 2 kids (ages 7 & 10), 1 adult, and 1 spectating adult, which some find 'extremely high for the amount of attractions' (Review 2).
  • Gift cards are NOT eligible for food or arcade purchases, limiting their utility significantly (Review 2).
  • No outside food or drinks allowed, and on-site food can be expensive with long wait times (e.g., almost an hour for mozzarella sticks, leading to cancelled orders) (Reviews 2, 5).
  • Additional costs for lockers (Review 2).
  • Waterpark is 'smaller than expected' for some, with only two slides, a splash pad, and a small obstacle course pool (Review 4).
  • Hot tub gets quickly filled with both parents and children, and is reported to be 'pretty hot', which could be a concern for small children (Reviews 4, 5).
  • Pool was cloudy and warm from the amount of kids (Review 2).

Price & Value

Admission for two kids (7 & 10), one adult, and one spectating adult was $106, which was considered 'extremely high for the amount of attractions' offered (Review 2). Expect additional costs for lockers and food. Gift cards are significantly devalued as they cannot be used for food or arcade purchases, leaving balances unusable for essential in-park spending (Review 2). This suggests a poor value proposition for many parents compared to alternatives like Cascades Waterpark in Cortland which offers more attractions and full gift card usability.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • No specific accessibility accommodations mentioned in the reviews.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • No outside food or drinks allowed (Review 2).
  • Gift cards are not eligible for food or arcade purchases (Review 2).
  • On-site food can have long wait times (almost an hour for mozzarella sticks) (Review 5).

🚗Parking Info

  • Parking is a significant problem; often 'no parking spaces available', forcing visitors to park 'very far away' and walk in adverse weather (Review 2).

👥Crowd Levels

  • Can be 'insanely packed' or 'too many people' leading to no seating, cloudy pools, and 20-person hot tub lines, especially during peak times or an hour after opening (Reviews 2, 5).
  • On rare occasions, it was reported as 'not too crowded' (Review 1).

🛡️Safety Features

  • The hot tub is noted as being 'pretty hot' which might be a concern for small children (Review 5).
  • No other explicit safety features (e.g., lifeguard ratios, first aid stations, specific entry/exit controls) were mentioned in the reviews.

When to Avoid

  • Weekends and peak times, as parking is non-existent, seating is unavailable, and the park becomes 'insanely packed' (Reviews 2, 5).
  • If you have older children (e.g., 12+) expecting many large slides or extensive attractions, as it's 'smaller than expected' and 'geared towards the under ten' (Reviews 4, 5).
  • If you are relying solely on a gift card for all expenses, especially food or arcade activities (Review 2).
  • During cold and flu season, particularly on busy days, due to high capacity and crowded pool conditions (Review 2).

Had a great time with friends and their children at the new water park in Oswego everything was clean and it wasn't too crowded. It's a good size with plenty of water features to enjoy the day. Beautiful location on the Oswego River and along the Riverwalk.

We were gifted a $150 gift card for my son’s birthday. We made the 90 minute drive to splash, arrived around 11am to find no parking spaces available. Had to park very far away and walk in the blistering cold. Then paid $106 for myself, my two kids ages 7 & 10, and for my mom to simply spectate on the side. That’s seems extremely high for the amount of attractions they have to offer. I then asked if I just bring the gift card up to the splash cafe to use the remaining $44 on pizza and drinks for my kids. I was told the gift cards aren’t eligible for their food or their arcade. That was insane to me. We drove an hour and a half, you can’t bring in outside food or drinks, and now I wasn’t able to use the gift card balance on food. That pretty much ruined the experience for me and my kids as they were hungry after about an hour of playing and unfortunately I didn’t bring money for food expecting that the gift card could be used anywhere throughout the park. Oh yeah you also have to pay for a locker so be prepared to spend money at every corner. Secondly, this place was just insanely packed. As soon as we walked in an hour after opening, there was already nowhere to sit. The pool was cloudy and warm from the amount of kids they were letting in it. There was a 20 person line for the hot tub at all times. During cold and flu season I would recommend they lower the capacity. It really takes away from the enjoyment of the experience when you’re forced to stand up holding your belongings, while you struggle to find your kids in a sea of 200 plus children and adults. Would not recommend and we will not be returning or using the remaining balance on the gift card. I highly recommend cascades waterpark in Cortland! Less crowded, more attractions, and their gift cards can be used ANYWHERE in the waterpark unlike splash.

My family and I had a wonderful time at Splash!! It was great having everything all in one place. Splash was located right inside of the Clarion along with Streamers Restaurant. We were able to stay, play and eat all in the same spot. Thank you for a great experience!!

Smaller than I expected geared towards the under ten. You get two slides, splash pad, and a small obstacle course pool. There is a hot tub that is good size but it fills quickly with both parents and children.

Here’s the review from the whole family including a 4 and 2 12 year olds: Too many people. The hot tub shouldn’t let little kids in. Be careful with the hot tub, it’s pretty hot! The staff was nice and the space is well designed. But too many people! We had to bail on our order of mozzarella sticks after waiting almost an hour.
