5 months agoSports Basement Sunnyvale is awesome! They have a great bike shop, good prices, nice bikes, camping gear, lots of athletic shoes, and they host great events for the community like bicycle tube fixing workshops! And they rent high quality bicycles and skis as well. Becoming a Basementeer gets you a discount.

2 months agoSports basement use to be a great place to shop and rent, but recently their service have been really bad. I rented skies for a week and was given skies with screws off leading to skis getting stuck multiple times. I am lucky I survived 3 days of ski. Pictures attached. When I pointed out to the employee, she started blaming me that it would have come off in the snow or car. I was like these are screws not pins. Another guys stepped in and did nothing to resolve the issue other than flexing his muscles and saying we acknowledge and not gonna do anything about it. At the end lady offered to refund in condescending tone, which I obviously refused. I think Sports Basement have started to hire bunch of kids you do not have any respect for customer or experience in service. I miss when Sports Basement had great customer service and business practices. Really disappointed to see degraded service, I will take my business someplace else in future.

a month agoI took the Sports Basement ski bus for the first time this year. It's a great and affordable way to get 1-3 people to Tahoe and back without having to worry about the driving, gas, tolls, or potential speeding tickets. Different ski resorts are available, and if Sunnyvale bus is full, the bigger Sports Basement in Redwood City is not that far away. Sunnyvale location is very convenient for me though. The store itself is nice, and if they do not have the gear you are looking for in your size/color, they can ship from other locations easily enough. End of season sales are great if you can tolerate not getting bleeding edge gear to use on impulse. One time membership is good for an extra 10% savings for gear, which pays for itself pretty quickly, and applies at all locations.

2 months agoI came in to purchase some ski boots during the spring sale. I had a great experience getting fitted by the representative. Very knowledgeable and friendly. They explained every step of the way and I even got a top end boot from a few seasons ago for an even better discount. Highly recommend coming here for your winter gear purchases.
