💡Pro Tips from Reviews
- →If cleanliness and facility maintenance are priorities, this venue may not meet expectations.
- →For regular gymnastics classes, especially for younger children, anticipate large class sizes and potential inconsistency in instructors.
- →Consider Star Center as a top choice for birthday parties, particularly for children around 7, due to the highly praised party staff and activities.
- →Be prepared for potentially disengaged staff during trial classes or at the front desk.
Things to Consider
- ⚠Facility cleanliness is a major and consistent issue: dirty/filthy floors (1st and 2nd floor), run-down appearance, and a persistent bad smell.
- ⚠Restrooms are reported as consistently bad/dirty.
- ⚠Class sizes are large, which reviewers found problematic for younger children who need more individualized attention and guidance.
- ⚠Inconsistent instruction in regular classes, with reports of a different teacher almost every other class.
- ⚠Staff at entry for trial classes were described as unattentive and unfriendly.
- ⚠Coaches in trial tumbling classes were disengaged, 'mostly just stood around,' leading to lack of direct instruction and reliance on classmates for help.
Price & Value
No specific pricing is mentioned. 🛡️Safety Features
- •Good COVID-19 health practices were implemented.
- •A potential safety concern was raised by the lack of staff supervision/engagement in a trial class, where a classmate had to help.
⏰When to Avoid
- • If facility cleanliness and hygiene (including restrooms) are high priorities.
- • If you expect small class sizes or consistent, highly attentive instruction for younger children.
- • If seeking a trial tumbling class with active, engaged coaching.
- • If you are put off by unresponsive front desk staff or disengaged coaches during classes.

a month agoThe facility is dirty, class sizes are large (especially for younger children who need more attention/guidance), and teachers are inconsistent - I think my daughter had a different instructor every other class. There are many other gymnastics places in Austin, most of which have waitlists. There is a reason this place does not have one. I'd recommend waiting for a spot to open at a better facility.

5 months agoGreat program, however both 1st floor and 2nd floor are always filthy and stink really bad. Restrooms are always bad too. They seem to be doing really well, so perhaps hire a professional deep cleaning crew at least once or twice a month?

2 years agoJust had a birthday party here for a 7-year-old girl and the kids all had so much fun! There is plenty of equipment to keep kids entertained. Best part is that the staff is wonderful with the kids. They set up an obstacle course and ran a few different games. Like I said, every kid had a blast!

3 years agoMy daughter tried a trial tumbling class here. I was immediately not impressed. The staff didn't acknowledge me when I came in and were not friendly once they finally noticed me. The place was run down and smelled bad. The tumbling class had "stations" and the coaches mostly just stood around. Another classmate helped my daughter most of the time. We will look elsewhere for tumbling.

4 years agoMy son has been in gymnastics here for some time. When Covid struck, we stayed home for a long time. We have recently started going back as Star Center's Covid-19 health practices are very good. As for the gymnastics itself, is is fantastic. There are so many ways my son has benefited from going down this gymnastics path other than the gymnastics itself. He is confident, focused and being a gymnast is a great source of pride. Star Center is great for my son and I am very happy for it!
