Had an awesome time out with Neil last week. I opted for the 2 mile hike out to Tom's Thumb. We ended up climbing Hanging Gardens first. We scrambled off the back and hiked to Tom's Thumb and then climbed that twice! I also learned how to rappell off of it which was so sick. It was my first time ever following trad and it was so fulfilling and an amazing experience for me. If you feel comfortable in your hiking abilities and just as comfortable in your climbing/belaying, you should definitely look into this multipitch climb. You can get a lot of climbing in and see a lot of the landscape. Neil was really cool and made the entire experience comfortable, engaging, and fun. Highly recommended checking it out! I did a guided multi-pitch route at Tom's Thumb and an anchors course with Neil Soneson. It was absolutely incredible. Neil made me well at ease and taught me so much. I never had any doubt in Neil's climbing and gear handling. Every question or scenario I had was answered with ease. He was also very flexible and tailored a lot of the anchors course towards things I would most likely use while still giving me a broad but in depth look at all the various tools and tricks I might use. I'm hopin I can come back out here for some lessons in trad climbing! 10/10 would recommend, you can't go wrong with Neil.
