Summit Hut

(4/25/2025 10:44am) Here are the many reasons I give Summit Hut the best 5 star rating: • Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. • Top quality new products for hiking and camping. • Well displayed, clean, and organized store. • Music in-store made for a fun and relaxing atmosphere. • Employees (Doug & Abel) were friendly and introduced themselves in a professional manner. • They had strait-forward answers for ALL of my questions. • I was directed were to shop and find things. • I was treated with respect and I felt I was welcome to return here. • Easy and plentiful parking This business is a customers dream come true. Thank you Summit Hut for being one of the best outdoors sports stores in Tucson. You deserve more stars than Google offers.

This was the first time I stopped in at Summit Hut. I have been a REI member since the mid-80's, but since we moved to Tucson I had seen Summit Hut on Speedway and really want to check it out. Today was that day. I have a super old MSR Whisperlite Rapidfire that I love more than all my other stoves (Reactor, PocketRocket, Whisperlite International) combined. It started leaking fuel and I fully expected I would never be able to find the parts to fix it. I took it into Summit Hut to ask about it, hoping not to hear it is too old and to buy a new one. Not only did they have the part (a specific small o-ring), but they took it back and diagnosed it on the spot. This is service that is almost non-existent these days. The stove is back to working, and I am now a Summit Hut fan going forward. Great shop with all sorts of goodies too. Thank you, guys. You are truly appreciated!!!

I wanted to share my amazing experience buying boots the other day. I went to buy another pair of boots at Summit Hut on Speedway and this young man named Abel asked if I needed help. He was so patient and knowledgeable! He took time to measure my feet and suggested the perfect boots for me to try. He even brought out three different pairs and encouraged me to walk around the store to see how they felt. It reminded me of when I used to go shoe shopping with my mom when I was younger. Thanks to Abel, I'll definitely be returning to buy my next pair of boots. I really hope he's still there because I trust that he'll help me find the right boots. It's rare to find such hard-working and helpful employees like him. Thanks again to Abel for his exceptional service!

I hadn't been in a Summit Hut before. We had a great experience there with the friendly and knowledgeable staff who were helpful and not hovery. Doug and Dave were great! We will be back.
