Detailed Insights

Surfari Water Park at The Grove Resort offers a fun-filled experience for families with both toddlers and older children, featuring heated pools (83 degrees Fahrenheit), a lazy river, waterslides, and a zero-entry pool (4.5 ft max depth). The integrated resort accommodations are highly praised for being spacious, like a 'mini house' with multiple bedrooms and a full kitchen, making it ideal for family stays. Excellent customer service, particularly at check-in, is a notable highlight, with staff going above and beyond to assist guests.

Key Highlights

  • Engaging for a wide age range, from toddlers to older kids, ensuring broad appeal.
  • All main pools are consistently heated to a comfortable 83 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Features a lazy river, waterslides, and a zero-entry pool with a maximum depth of 4.5 feet.
  • Exceptional check-in experience with friendly and professional staff who can assist in selecting rooms close to the water park.
  • On-site accommodations are spacious and well-appointed (e.g., 3 bedrooms, multiple TVs, full kitchen), perfect for families.
  • Complimentary lounge chairs are available, though securing them early is advised.

Standout Features

  • Consistently heated main pools at 83 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Lazy river and waterslides (when operational) provide entertainment.
  • Zero-entry pool with a 4.5 ft max depth suitable for various swimming levels.
  • Spacious, multi-bedroom resort accommodations with full kitchens are highly beneficial for families.
  • Proactive and friendly check-in staff who assist with room location preferences.
  • Availability of free lounge chairs for guest use.

Perfect For

Toddlers: Enjoyable for toddlers due to the zero-entry pool and a splash pad (though unheated).
Older Kids: Provides a 'great time' for older kids with waterslides and a lazy river.

Ideal For

Families with children across a broad age range (toddlers to older kids).
Resort guests seeking convenient access to an indoor water park.
Families valuing spacious, apartment-style accommodations with kitchen facilities.
Visitors looking for heated pool options during cooler weather (excluding the splash pad).

💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • Confirm the operational status of the lazy river and waterslides before visiting to avoid disappointment.
  • Always bring towels from your resort room to the water park, as none are provided on-site.
  • If visiting during 'winter', spring, or fall, be aware that the kids' splash pad is unheated.
  • Arrive early to secure complimentary lounge chairs, especially on busier days.
  • Request a room close to the water park during check-in for enhanced convenience.
  • Factor in potential extra costs for amenities like the wave surfer ($35/person) or private shaded seating ($60 for an umbrella and two chairs).

Things to Consider

  • Key attractions like the lazy river and waterslides may be closed without prior notification, with signs only visible upon arrival at the water park.
  • The kids' splash pad is unheated, which can be an issue for visitors outside of summer months.
  • Shuttle service might not drop off directly at the water park, requiring a walk through a parking garage.
  • Towels are not provided at the water park; guests must bring them from their resort rooms.
  • The 'wave surfer' attraction costs an additional $35 per person and may not operate for the full day, even when other attractions are closed.
  • Limited free umbrellas; renting two lounge chairs and one umbrella costs an 'excessive' $60 per day.

Price & Value

The base experience with heated pools, lazy river, and slides offers decent value, especially when included with resort stays. However, there are significant additional costs: the wave surfer is $35 per person, and an umbrella with two lounge chairs costs an 'excessive' $60 per day. While free lounge chairs are available, securing shade can be pricey. Attraction closures can severely diminish perceived value.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • No specific accessibility accommodations are mentioned in the reviews.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • One review mentions 'Tata at Long Board', suggesting an on-site restaurant or food options. No specific policy on outside food or drinks for the water park is detailed in the reviews, but resort rooms offer full kitchens.

🚗Parking Info

  • The shuttle service may drop off guests at a distance from the water park, requiring a walk through a parking garage. This implies on-site parking or a shuttle from a central parking area at the resort.

👥Crowd Levels

  • No explicit details on crowd levels, but the advice to 'get one early' for free lounge chairs suggests they can fill up, indicating moderate to high attendance at times.

🛡️Safety Features

  • No specific safety features such as lifeguards, first aid stations, or entry/exit tracking systems are mentioned in the provided reviews.

When to Avoid

  • Visiting if the primary reason is for the lazy river or waterslides without confirming their current operational status.
  • Planning for extensive use of the kids' splash pad if visiting outside of summer, as it is unheated.
  • Assuming towels will be provided at the water park.
  • Expecting free access to the wave surfer or continuous operation, as it has an additional cost and limited hours.

-the lazy river and waterslides were closed the entire time we were here!!!! And they only tell you on signs after walking all the way to the waterpark. This was the only reason why we came here! -they did not want to drive us in the golf cart to the waterpark just stopped at the grove from the terraces and had to walk through a parking garage -they also don't say to bring the towels from your room as they don't have any at the park -its $35/person to use the wave surfer and it wasn't on all day even when the lazy river and slides were closed it wasn't free

The kids had a great time at the water park. It was a fun and enjoyable experience for my toddler as well as the older kids. We also found a great restaurant nearby where we could relax and have drinks. The hotel we stayed at was absolutely beautiful, like a mini house with three bedrooms, TVs in every room, and a spacious and well-organized kitchen. It was the perfect accommodation for our family. We had a fantastic time at the water park, despite it being a bit far from Kissimmee. On our way there, we were surprised to pass by Disneyland, which was also further away than we expected. However, the drive was completely worth it. The sight of the beautiful palm trees as we approached the resort was simply glamorous and breathtaking. I had a wonderful experience during check-in at the resort. The process was a breeze, and I was impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff member who assisted me. Although I didn't catch his name, his exceptional service left a lasting impression. He went above and beyond to help me select a room close to the water resort, which turned out to be the perfect location. Being just a short walk away from the resort made our stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this resort for its excellent customer service and convenient location.

Tata at Long Board was so great, she is one of the best experiences here at the Grove Resort! As for the hotel - definitely recommend. The rooms are great! However, I wish there were more umbrellas available for guests to use. I understand there’s a rental option, but paying an extra $60 for two lounge chairs and one umbrella, especially when visiting with six people and after already paying for the room, feels a bit excessive. Aside from that, I will definitely consider revisiting.

I am staying at The Grove and this waterpark is great but a key things I noticed. First the kids splash pad isn’t heated the like the rest of the pools. I suppose if you’re visiting in summer this is ok but for those visiting in “winter”, spring, or fall this is good to know.

The water temperature is great. All the pools were heated to 83 degrees. They have a lazy river. Zero entry pool with 4.5 ft max depth. Free lounge chairs (get one early). They also have private seating. Two lounge chairs for $40 a day.
