3 years agoVery scenic especially since a lot of leaves had fallen so we could see all around us. It was perfect weather causing it to be a pretty busy trail but never bothers me to see people in nature rather than in front of their electronics. I'm sure I'll be back multiple times.

7 years agoThis place is in the midst of Kansas City yet makes you feel like you are out in the wilderness. I love nature and hiking and camping so I sort of dislike bringing attention I places like this so that it doesn’t get bombarded and destroyed but this place is in the middle of Kansas City... it’s still beautiful and I was delighted to go out here one very cold morning last month.. or earlier this month I decided to come out here to take some self portraits to send to my boyfriend since he is deployed. I truly was having the time of my life just taking photo in the beautiful fall foliage.. I even saw deer.. you can still hear traffic around you which reminds you that you are still indeed in the city but still a great getaway if you don’t have time to drive a little further to a state park.

3 years agoFirst trail run in Kansas City and I had a blast. Great scenery. Easy grades and enough technicality to make it fun. Didn't know trail so I had to use GPS a few times to get reoriented. Saw a bunch of deer. I will be coming back again when in town.

3 years agoThe trails were fun. Diverse terrain and we were able to get a good distance in (9 miles). The fall is great because the foliage is sparse so no worry about ticks. But we did get our catalytic converter stolen while on the hike. Unfortunate for the area that this is a common occurrence here.

8 years agoGreat hike for the city. I went on a Sunday evening and the trail was not very busy. Lots of solitude all things considered.
