3 weeks agoTLDR- Don’t waste your money! Please don’t let the 4.5 star rating fool you. I went here a few weeks ago with some friends, and left extremely disappointed. I cannot believe this place has such a high rating. This is now located inside the owner’s house. We got a little lost because we were expecting the store front pictured on Google. The experience is incredibly repetitive…you’re put in a room with some LED screens. There’s some fun lighting, but that’s it. The whole experience is shouting “psych”, playing with plastic fruit, and high-fiving each other. Oh wait you high-five the floor, too. Based on other similar rated reviews..he hasn’t changed this format or the videos in years. This is very outdated, niche humor. Think videos you made back in 2008 with Microsoft Paint. Overall, please consider doing something else. For $25 you can have a lot more fun in Austin. The owner/creator was incredibly nice, though!

4 weeks agoIt was pretty boring and cringey—I’m sorry!! but just… honestly? overpriced and not worth the time overall :( The owner is super nice, but I wanted to do my part by leaving an honest review so others think twice before spending money. It’s essentially a pre-recorded video where you say and do repetitive things. Btw it is not in a brick and mortar store. The Eureka Room is now set-up in the owner’s home which is kind of odd… so pee before you go unless you wanna use his own private bathroom. Also the owner left the lights on nearly the whole time, and we didn’t know they were Supposed to be off so we didn’t say anything. Idk, man. I’m really confused by the reviews praising it? Because I felt majorly swindled by the price for essentially watching Millenial-cringe humor (think primitive days of YouTube like Charlie the Unicorn but worse) and high-fiving people over and over again.

a year agoThis was an interesting artistic experiment. It’s a fun idea for a small friend-group or a date night for people who want to be silly for a little while. However, the execution did not meet my expectations. I would not recommend this for a first date as the experience lends itself to a variety of awkward moments.

3 years agoThe Eureka room is a pleasant experience for those who are looking to lightly participate in a series of immersive scenes! There are lights, voices, colors, and activities for a small group of people to enjoy and be wondered by. If you're a performer or artist, I think you'll super enjoy it! If you're not, I think you'll still super enjoy it!! The host/owner, Michael, is a friendly and welcoming presence and I could tell right away how passionate he is about The Eureka Room, which makes the experience that much better, because he cares a lot! He assured that we felt safe, comfortable, and excited. Whenever I'm in Austin, I'm surely heading back to The Eureka Room for more fun, creative times! *update: The owner was able to make time for my friend to experience The Eureka Room as well, because they weren't able to do it the day before, and the owner even participated with us...AND IT WAS JUST AS GREAT!!!

2 years agoIf you are up for a random time with strangers, getting silly, laughing, and maybe testing your reflexes, this is the place for you! I had a great time; definitely think the more the merrier if you go, but we had plenty of fun with two pairs. Mike has something special here.
