a week agoThe Gateway Arch was an amazing experience! ⭐ Going to the top was creepy—but in the best way possible. It's definitely a must-do if you're in the area. The view is incredible, and the elevator ride up is super unique—you’ll know exactly what I mean once you’re inside! 🏙️⬆️ The museum below was also impressive. 🏛️ It had a strong old-style, Midwestern and Native American vibe and did a great job breaking down specific eras of history. I found it both educational and visually stunning. 📚🪶 The gift shop inside the Arch was a bit pricey 💸, but considering how unique the place is, I couldn’t leave without grabbing a few souvenirs to take home. 🛍️ I highly recommend visiting, whether you're with family, friends, or just exploring the city solo. 👨👩👧👦👫🧍 Definitely buy your tickets in advance and look out for any available discounts. 🎟️💡 And don’t forget to take lots of pictures—it’s an experience you’ll want to remember! 📸

a week agoThe ToDo thing in St. Louis. As the city is slowly, well dying from inside out, as downtown is really empty, this is a hope for the city. Looks cool from the outside, aswell the view from the inside is incredible. There is a museum inside, movie room and other things to do. The ride up to the platform is done by tiny capsules. 5 people fit in those. 8 capsules in total on each side. Nevertheless it's not much space! So if you are claustrophobic, it could be a problem. You have about 5 minutes on the top. The view is amazing (on St Louis). The east side view is not worth it. 😅 good look on the stadium, the old court house and the city small skyline. Definitely a must do for St. Louis. Recommended!

a week agoWe could not figure out where to park. I tried looking on website, but it was all jumbled and not found anywhere. Finally saw a sign for arch parking, but I don't think it was the official parking. Google maps puts you near the arch but not where you can figure out where to park or enter visitor center. The arch itself is awesome, and the lawn beneath it is refreshing after dealing with the press of the traffic (ugh). The tram is fine if you're not claustrophobic. The view from the top is amazing. Very fun! I wish we had more time to look at the displays at the visitor center, and to visit the gift shop. They were closing all that down at about 5:40. I guess I'll look for arch souvenirs somewhere else. Allow at least twice the travel time, due to crazy traffic right there, plus finding parking and a decent walk to the entrance. BTW, there are some stairs to climb, but not excessive amount like I thought it would be.

2 weeks agoWe stopped at the Gateway Arch on our trip home. It was worth the stop. This has been a place I've always wanted to go to. We were traveling as a group of 5 , including a 1 year old. Parking at the stadium parking lot is $10 but if there's an event that day it's $35. We decided to park down by the Riverside. It was $10. The parking is on an angle on cobblestone. This parking might not be ideal for people with issues walking. It was hard getting in/ out of the car since it's at an angle. We chose this because there was a baseball game that day and the event parking was $35 instead of $10. It's a short walk to the arch. There are stairs and a ramp. We used the ramp since we had a stroller with our 1 year old. We had booked ahead of time our tickets to ride to the top of the arch. Ours was at 2:45 pm ticket on a Monday . They give you a numbered ticket so you know which number pod you will ride up/ down in. Short wait, they take your photo, then you need to walk downstairs to wait for pods. We waited about 30 minutes to board. It is about a 3 minute ride to the top. The pods are small and seats 5. There is a window in the door and you can see the inside of the arch. You get 10 minutes at the top for viewing before heading back down. Thankfully we had nice weather and you could see the city. The pods aren't handicap accessible, you are required to use stairs both up and down. We had a travel stroller with us and one of the staff members took it for us and we were reunited with after we got back. They put it by the exit when we came up the stairs. There are two trams, a north and south. We were in the north tram. The South one wasn't running. I'm sure this place would be very busy during peak season. Glad we were able to visit when we did. You could easily spend half a day here , just going through the museum, watching the film and going up in the arch. I'd love to come back and be able to spend more time going through the museum and watching the movie. We had limited time to be here.
