Nice zoo, it's changed a lot over the last years as they've added more habitat and don't away with the old cages. Better for the animals but you know how we folks hate change. Food service needs an overhaul. Putting in order either online in person or at a kiosk was simple, however pickup of your food was a mess. Too many orders coming through for the two employees to deal with Right now there are exhibits for a night time light show which are fascinating.

One of the best zoo’s in the east coast! I can’t believe we’ve never made this trip before in all the times we’ve visited Baltimore. It is very easy to get to and any family looking for a good day out, should check it out. Highly recommend the Otter Experience! What is also fun is how upon entering the zoo, you walk by the historic old zoo too. It took me back in time to the Bronx Zoo when I was younger - metal bars, animals on display in rough situations. And they keep all that for education right now but will soon turn into more current exhibits. My favorite part is the penguin exhibit! It was like WOW! Spend some time there!

The zoo recently was awesome. We went in February during the winter hours season but I thought $24 for one ticket was worth it. We did a free train ride that did a quick look through the mini highland bows into where the chimpanzees are. It was awesome and not busy at all. I appreciate this place because they have a bald eagle named Vega that is a rescue and I know the two bears they have are also rescued. I wish there were more signs about how the animals got there in the first place. I haven't been to the DC zoo but I am proud to say that this is one of my favorite zoos that I have been to. There are plenty of bathrooms around that are clean. The elephants were out but the giraffes were not which was fine.

A great zoo with a wide variety of animals. Perfect for children and early teens. Friendly environment, lovely shaded walks. Might be a bit long for little legs. Bring the stroller for kids and under.

1st things 1st: the animals are healthy, well cared-for and living in good accommodations. That's the most important thing. Operations in the zoo are not great, however. The food is expensive for what it is, which is to be expected at any zoo. However, all the food we ordered came out cold (or warm for drinks) and with some error in what we asked for. The churros were too stale to be eaten. Most of the animals are off-exhibit while the zoo is going through some major renovations. Keeper talks that were scheduled and advertised simply didn't happen. Come to see beautiful, healthy animals enjoying their lives. The rest isn't going well.
