The Nature Bus

If you don’t take a Nature Bus Tour, you’re world is all the poorer. We just finished an awesome trip to VIMS and Big Island Aquaculture for an informative tour of the oyster farm industry, culminating in a private tour, along with oyster tasting of the Big Island Aquaculture Farm. The oyster industry in Virginia is entirely geared toward environmentally sustainable practices, married with up to the minute science. You do not know this industry unless you have taken This tour and experienced this level of experience and education in this field of our coastal industry. Hopefully you will have another opportunity to take this tour and get this insight, and have a better and appreciative experience in eating oysters!

Suzanne, Gary & James provided a wonderful day of birding on the Eastern Shore. My son and I signed up through the Winter Wildlife Festival. Neither of us had ever been birding so we really appreciated James’ knowledge and quick eye to spot different birds. The day was well planned, took off and got in on time and Suzanne even provided binoculars! We stopped for a wonderful lunch at Cape Charles Brewery. Fantastic day! Highly recommend the Nature Bus!

With the summer approaching, I was searching for a summer camp for our 3 year old, we found the nature bus and the amazing thinkergarten summer camp opportunity. The nature bus is a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature while creating meaningful and unforgettable memories with your little ones as well as to build friendships and network with other parents. From an amazing trip to the First Landing Park, followed by many age appropriate STEAM activities, to a relax tea party/break, the nature bus will keep your little ones busy exploring nature and building interpersonal skills and relationships. Thank you, Mrs. Suzanne for such a wonderful experience! We will definitely do it again & 100%recommend!

Just finished my second trip with the Nature Bus and I hope to do many more. Suzanne takes care of very detail of the trip is taken care of so you can just relax and enjoy the beauty around you. The guides are also incredibly knowledgeable - thanks James and Allen for sharing the info and being so willing to answer all the questions! Went to some of the best (and little known) spots for wildlife viewing which made for an incredible day. I appreciated that breaks were scheduled in for restroom, snacks, and lunch so we were always comfortable. It also really maximized our time outdoors. Highly recommend!!

Went on 2 trips recently with the Nature Bus to see waterfowl. These were set up by VB Parks & Rec for the Winter Wildlife Festival. Suzanne made everyone feel comfortable and the guide, James Abbott, was absolutely phenomenal. He knew just where to look for the birds and could tell from quite a distance what we were looking at. A slide presentation on the bus prepared us to recognize what we would see. A great experience both times.
