Expert Summary

Detailed Insights

The Rush Fun Park offers an experience reminiscent of an 'upgraded Discovery Zone' with a wide variety of interactive areas including a bounce floor with sports balls, multiple slides, ball pits, a balance beam, and rock climbing. When fully operational and adequately staffed, it provides an exciting environment for kids to burn energy. Exceptional customer service from specific staff members (Julia, Hailey, GM Cindy) can significantly enhance the experience, especially regarding pricing and membership options.

Key Highlights

  • Impressive layout with many interactive areas.
  • Bounce floor with soccer and basketballs available.
  • Various slides, ball pits, and a balance beam for active play.
  • Rock climbing and trampolines are popular activities for kids.
  • Arcade games with 'amazing prize options' are available.
  • Facilities can be 'very clean'.
  • Exceptional customer service from specific employees (Julia, Hailey) who go above and beyond to ensure a good time, even for out-of-town guests facing issues.
  • General Manager Cindy is highly praised for explaining ticket prices, membership passes, and benefits in detail, which can lead to a satisfied purchase of a month pass.

Standout Features

  • The facility's layout, described as an 'upgraded Discovery Zone', with diverse activities.
  • A wide variety of activities including bounce areas, slides, ball pits, balance beam, rock climbing, and trampolines.
  • Arcade games with appealing prize options.
  • Positive interactions and helpfulness from specific staff members, particularly Julia, Hailey, and General Manager Cindy.
  • Cleanliness of the facility.

Perfect For

Not recommended for kids under seven; the back section is primarily designed for older children.
Suitable for children aged seven and above, as noted by the areas not designed for younger kids.

Ideal For

Families looking for a place to help kids burn a lot of energy.
Families from out of town who might appreciate exceptional customer service when encountering issues.
Parents considering a membership pass, especially after consulting with knowledgeable staff like GM Cindy.
Families who enjoy a variety of active play options, including rock climbing and trampolines.

💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • Consider stretching beforehand if you plan to actively chase your kids around the park.
  • Purchase tickets beforehand to potentially avoid lines, though lines were minimal on one reported visit.
  • If considering a membership pass, seek out General Manager Cindy for a detailed explanation of pricing and benefits.
  • Be aware that specific attractions might be closed or understaffed; call ahead if a particular attraction is crucial to your visit.

Things to Consider

  • Major attractions like the 'big slides' can be completely closed without prior notice.
  • Attractions requiring employee assistance (e.g., rock wall) may be closed or have limited access due to severe understaffing (e.g., only 1 employee for multiple attractions, while 4 are at the front counter).
  • When the rock wall does open, access can be severely restricted (e.g., only 2 climbs allowed before closing or requiring re-entry to an empty line).
  • Some employees are perceived as 'not kid oriented', 'slack off', and can be rude to children, telling them they cannot access certain attractions or closing them quickly.
  • Not recommended for kids under seven; the 'back section isn’t designed for younger children'.
  • Perceived as 'overpriced and underwhelming' compared to similar venues like Maui Maui and Kids Empire.
  • Mandatory, 'overpriced anti-slip socks' cost $16 for a family of four, adding an unnecessary expense.
  • Anti-slip socks can pose a safety risk by getting 'stuck in the slides and potentially cause injuries'.

Price & Value

Admission for a family can easily exceed $70. There is a mandatory, 'overpriced' purchase of anti-slip socks at $16 for a family of four. With arcade games, total spending can quickly surpass $100. While the price includes 3 hours of play and socks, the value is significantly diminished if attractions are closed or understaffed. Compared to similar venues, it is considered 'overpriced and underwhelming'. However, detailed explanations from staff like General Manager Cindy regarding membership passes can make a monthly pass seem like a valuable option.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • No specific accessibility accommodations mentioned in the reviews.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • Food options include pizza (smelled like pizza) and they offer 'drinks and snacks as well'.

🚗Parking Info

  • No specific parking information mentioned in the reviews.

👥Crowd Levels

  • Lines were reported as 'minimal' on one specific day, but purchasing tickets beforehand is generally recommended to avoid potential lines.

🛡️Safety Features

  • Mandatory anti-slip socks, while intended for safety, have been reported to 'get stuck in the slides and potentially cause injuries'.
  • Implicit safety concerns arise from understaffing, as attractions requiring employee assistance may lack proper supervision.

When to Avoid

  • Avoid if your children are under seven years old, as many areas are not designed for them and it may not be worth the cost.
  • Avoid if specific attractions like the big slides or rock wall are primary reasons for your visit, as they may be closed or understaffed.
  • Avoid if you expect consistent staff presence at all attractions and attentive, kid-oriented service, as understaffing and unengaged employees have been reported.
  • Avoid if you are on a tight budget or seeking better value compared to competitors like Maui Maui and Kids Empire, as overall costs can quickly exceed $100.

Terrible experience!! Brought my daughter to spend her birthday here. It wasn’t a birthday package but just something I bought her to do on the actual day of her birthday. The big slides were closed down completely. The attractions that require an employee to assist were closed because there was only 1 employee available for the attractions at the time. I went to the counter twice to ask when the rock wall would be open and both times was told the 1 available employee was attending the other attraction. Meanwhile there were 4 employees at the front counter. When they finally did open the rock wall area they only allowed the kids to climb 2 rock walls then they had to remove the harness and get back in the line that didn’t have anyone in it 🤦🏽‍♀️ not sure what the point of that was. I’ve been to the universal city location and I’ll probably go back to that one next time. The employees here are not kid oriented and only slack off. The guy literally told her she couldn’t get on any others and that he was closing the attraction after the 2 kids in line went. At what the price is for 3 hours and socks I would expect at least an attendant at each attraction.

We came for the first time today and I am genuinely impressed with the layout. It reminds me of an upgraded Discovery Zone which is super cool. There were so many areas with different ways to interact. From the bounce floor with soccer balls and basketballs to the various slides and ball pits to the balance beam and rock climbing. It was such an exciting experience for the kids and myself, I definitely recommend stretching if you're planning to chase your kids around. There are games for which you need a card and amazing prize options. We didn't get food there but it did smell like pizza which made me hungry. Totally recommend getting tickets beforehand to avoid lines but lines were minimal today. Such a great place to burn some energy.

Julia and Hailey were absolutely amazing! Our family is from out of town and ran into a snag once arriving to your facility and these two beautiful ladies did everything within their means to ensure our girls would have the time of their lives. It's hard these days to find exceptional customer service so my husband and I really appreciate how Julia and Hailey helped us out and in a timely manner. Huge KUDOS to these women. Job well done ladies. 💕 Whenever we're back in San Antonio, we'll definitely be visiting again.

This is a place I wouldn’t recommend visiting, especially if you have kids under seven. It’s simply not worth the money, as most of the back section isn’t designed for younger children. Compared to similar venues like Maui Maui and Kids Empire, this place feels overpriced and underwhelming. One glaring issue is the mandatory purchase of their overpriced anti-slip socks—$16 for a family of four. These socks not only add an unnecessary expense but also pose a safety risk, as they can get stuck in the slides and potentially cause injuries. The overall cost is excessive, with admission for a family already exceeding $70, and if you play arcade games, you’re easily looking at spending over $100. Save your time and money and look for better options elsewhere.

Yesterday I took my children to Rush, while we were there my kids kept telling me how much fun they were having! There are so many awesome activities for the kids. My kids enjoyed the rock climbing and jumping on the trampolines. They have drinks and snacks as well. Everything was very clean. The staff members were nice and the General Manager Cindy was amazing she helped me by explaining the prices on tickets and member ship passes and the benefits from the membership passes. Honestly because of her taking her time to explain everything I got the month pass. I’m very happy she was the employee that helped us at the front desk. Thank you Cindy! We enjoyed the overall experience and we most definitely we be coming back!
