2 months agoThis is a great local park. It’s close enough to get to quickly, but big enough to get you away from most of the hectic city life. There are a limited number of trails, but very diverse in the vegetation you’ll experience - pines, palms, cypress and other plants. The trails are mostly dirt and grass, but one trail is actually sand! There is a nice conservation center and you will usually see one or more large tortoises. It’s a great way to spend an hour or two (or more) to get some exercise, commune with nature, or just sit and relax. I’ve been here a few times since it is so convenient and I highly recommend it for individuals or families alike.

a month agoWelcome to a slice of nature buried in the middle of the suburbs. My son and I just got back from this Preserve and I have to say, it was gorgeous. First you have the welcome center that has all kinds of educational material inside include two adolescent alligators. You can learn about the songs of frogs and what happens when lightning hits a forest. There is a tortoise and gopher turtle that live at the center. Then you embark on your journey on the hiking trails. Get a map and take lots of photos. It was cool and shaded on most trails and they have a water bottle refill station.

a month agoIt's hard to believe you're so close to the theme parks and bustle of Orlando, but you are. If you need a peaceful walk in nature while in the Orlando area, visit the Tibet-Butler Nature Preserve. There are 6 interconnected trails, ranging from easy to "adventuresome" and a nice exhibit building. The Palmetto Passage was closed during our visit, but the brochure says that a leisurely walk on the entire trail takes about 2 hours. Take water and wear appropriate shoes!

3 weeks agoHighly recommend coming here to clear your mind, see nature, or spend time with your family/kids. They have a fun informational center with AC, and tons of trails/animals to see and learn fun facts. They also have events for kids to learn. There is bathrooms, free parking/entrance, and plenty of benches to stop at

3 months agoCame here with my 4 year old for a break from all the Orlando crowds, and we had a great time! The trails are all very wide and flat and easy for a 4 year old to walk without getting tired. He also had a great time in and was very engaged by the education center, which had many buttons to push and things to learn. The trails are easy to walk, well marked, and included educational signage as well. We look forward to visiting again when we are back in Florida!
