💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • Inspect the wooden play structures, especially the castle, for splinters before allowing children to play, especially if they are sensitive to them.
  • Consider wearing closed-toe shoes to provide better protection on the wood chip ground layering.
  • Bring picnic supplies (food, drinks, charcoal if using grills) to fully utilize the park's picnic areas and make a day of it.
  • Be prepared for a short uphill walk to access the restroom facilities.
  • If seeking different play experiences or newer surfacing, explore the directly adjacent newer park as well.

Things to Consider

  • The main wooden castle structure 'shows its age' and 'could use some updating and maintenance'.
  • Specific concern about potential 'splinters' from the wooden castle components.
  • Ground layering consists of 'old wood chips' rather than newer, softer 'rubber mulch' alternatives.
  • Bathrooms require a 'short walk up the hill' from the main playground area, which could be inconvenient for some.

Price & Value

Assumed free entry, as is typical for public parks and no fees are mentioned. The park offers exceptional value for money due to its extensive size, wide variety of play equipment, and comprehensive amenities (picnic areas, lawn games, shade, ample parking, on-site bathrooms) provided at no cost.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • Bathrooms are located 'up the hill a short walk,' which may present a challenge for individuals with mobility issues or those pushing strollers.
  • No other specific accessibility accommodations (e.g., ADA-compliant play equipment, sensory-friendly hours) are mentioned in the reviews.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • Outside food and beverages are highly encouraged and supported, with explicit mentions of 'an area with grills, ping pong' and 'amazing place for a picnic,' along with pavilions and tables.

🚗Parking Info

  • Ample and easy parking is available, described as 'Lots of parking' and 'Plenty of parking'.

👥Crowd Levels

  • The park's 'extensive' and 'huge' nature suggests it can accommodate a large number of visitors, though specific crowd levels or busy times are not explicitly mentioned in the reviews.

🛡️Safety Features

  • **Concerns:** Explicitly mentioned worries about 'splinters' from the wooden castle structures.
  • **Concerns:** Ground layering consists of 'old wood chips' which may offer less impact protection compared to newer 'rubber mulch' surfaces.
  • No proactive safety measures such as staff supervision, controlled entry/exit, or first aid stations are mentioned.

When to Avoid

  • If you exclusively prefer modern playgrounds with only soft, rubberized ground surfaces.
  • If you or your children are highly sensitive to potential splinters from older wooden structures without thorough inspection.
  • If you have significant mobility challenges that make walking uphill to the restrooms difficult.

Very extensive park. However, it shows it age. It could use some updating and maintenance. I’m especially worried about splinters here given that much of the castle is wood. Ground layering is old wood chips, as compared to newer works that have “rubber mulch.” That being said there’s lot to do including various types of swings, multiple slides, sandbox, spider web, climbing equipment, music elements, and getting lost in the maze of the castles. There’s also another park directly adjacent to this one that is newer. Lots of parking, bathrooms on site.

Love this park! They have so much for kids to do! Tinkerbell playground is a wooden playground that has slides, swings, and things to climb and hide. Outside of the playground are additional playgrounds and swinger, climbing areas. They have permanent ping pong tables, corn hole boards, and tables. Lots of walking areas. Highly recommend!
