💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • **Parking**: Arrive early to secure a spot due to limited parking. Be mindful of the parking lot gate closing at sunset; plan your departure accordingly to avoid getting locked in.
  • **Navigation**: Be prepared for a small, manageable hill when transitioning between the parking lot and the main boardwalk.
  • **Activities**: Bring bikes for an easier and more extensive exploration, especially if you plan to go all the way to the lighthouse, as the boardwalk is flat and wide.
  • **Timing**: Consider visiting in the afternoon or evening for particularly beautiful and peaceful views.
  • **Pets**: It's an excellent spot to bring your dog for a walk, as it's explicitly dog-friendly.

Things to Consider

  • Limited parking space, which can be an issue, especially during popular times.
  • There is a manageable but noticeable hill between the parking lot and the boardwalk that families will need to descend and ascend.
  • The parking lot gate closes at sunset (e.g., around 8-8:30 PM in August), risking vehicles being locked inside if visitors stay too late.

Price & Value

No admission fees mentioned; appears to be a free public park. Provides excellent value for a free outdoor activity with well-maintained facilities and diverse recreational options (walking, biking, fishing, nature viewing).

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • The main boardwalk is described as 'flat' and 'easy terrain,' making it suitable for strollers and potentially wheelchairs.
  • A 'little hill' exists between the parking lot and the boardwalk, which might present a challenge for some mobility devices or individuals without assistance.
  • No specific accommodations for special needs are explicitly mentioned beyond the generally easy terrain of the boardwalk itself.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • No specific food policy mentioned in the reviews. As a public park, it is generally assumed outside food and picnics are permitted, but no direct confirmation from customer reviews.

🚗Parking Info

  • Parking is available but described as 'limited.'
  • The parking lot features a gate that closes and locks around sunset (e.g., 8-8:30 PM in August).
  • There is a small hill leading from the parking area down to the boardwalk.

👥Crowd Levels

  • Described as a 'pretty popular trail in the area,' suggesting it can attract a fair number of visitors, but no specific times of excessive crowding or quiet periods are mentioned.

🛡️Safety Features

  • The 'well-maintained boardwalk' implies a safe and secure surface for walking and biking.
  • The parking lot gate locking at sunset acts as a security measure for vehicles but requires visitors to be aware of closing times.
  • No staff supervision or dedicated first aid stations are explicitly mentioned in the reviews.

When to Avoid

  • Staying past sunset, especially if your car is in the main parking lot, due to the gate locking (around 8-8:30 PM in August).
  • If your family prefers highly structured, indoor, or high-energy amusement park-style entertainment.
  • If mobility challenges make navigating a small hill difficult without assistance, as there is one between the parking lot and the flat boardwalk.

Beautiful walk on the boardwalk. I little hill to get down and back up from parking lot but manageable. Flat boardwalk that offers beautiful views.

We went to this falls two times, one by foot walking along the boardwalk. Another time by riding the bike on the boardwalk all the way to the lighthouse. We saw people fishing on the shore. Both the view in the afternoon and the view in the evening are beautiful and very peaceful. Riding the bike makes it less tiring but could go all the way to the lighthouse. It is very easy to ride there as it is wide and pretty flat. I recoomend this place if you are going to Rochester, N.Y. We also saw a beaver swimming. The parking lot close the gate when sunset around 8-830 in Aug. make sure don't come back to the parking lot too late, the gate will lock and you will not get your car out.
