2 months agoI cannot say enough good things about renting a SUP from Urban Kai. While you should definitely make a reservation if you can, I showed up on a Wednesday morning and was all set up on the water within about 15 minutes. Sam was so friendly and told me ALL of the spots to see manatees. Cannot recommend renting here enough!

a month agoBeautiful setting to paddleboard at Urban Kai’s location. The hands on staff were so kind and had excellent service, but we were thrown by the older woman (assumed) manager being incredibly sharp toned and rude to our group a few times. I can’t say we will be back after that experience, but definitely worth trying once for the manatees!

7 months agoWish there was an option for more than 5 stars! Mike (the owner) is incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable about Tampa Bay. For the last 3 years my residency program has been coming to Urban Kai for the guided tour. Sam along with the other guides accompanied us on our trip and ensured we saw wildlife, the mangroves, and felt comfortable on the paddle boards and kayaks. I’ve got a few other times outside of the guided tour and each time we have blast. If you’re looking to explore the area, have family in town, or just simply want a quick trip to relax and get away then I’d certainly recommend Urban Kai.

a month agoThis is a great little area to paddle board or kayak- It's convenient as well as scenic. I always see dolphins and other wildlife here (including a manatee sighting!). You're able to maneuver through some mangroves and swim in shallow coves as well when the tide is lower and the water is clear. Another great perk of this location is having The Getaway restaurant and Patron Cafe right next door. You can hope off your paddle board and go have a drink and food right on the water. You really can't ask for anything better, whether you're a local or on vacation. The staff here is extremely helpful and accommodating as well. Shout out to Kyler who helped my mom and I with our rentals two days in a row. He was friendly, warm, helpful and enthusiastic about helping us see some wildlife while we were out on the water. Thank you Kyler for helping us find a manatee!

11 months agoWhat an amazing place to go Stand Up Paddle Boarding! Urban Kai Gandy is located inside a really cool hand painted bus and you launch your rented paddle board or kayak from a close by dock. The staff are so friendly and helpful. My son just did a week of Summer Camp and got to see a manatee and sting ray up close and paddle thru the mangroves and swim in the shallows. What an amazing adventure! Can't wait to go again.
