Velocity Island Park

My husband and I have been coming to Velocity for years and it's such a wonderful place to spend our off time. Beach sites are fabulous and the food at the on-site eatery is insanely good. They even had the most delicious local fresh oysters today. Can't wait to spend more time here in the future.

The kids had fun on the obstacle course and the food was pretty good. However, I would definitely need to see changes, and an investment to improve the amenities, if I ever go back. The staff was nice, but not professional, as evidenced by the life guard who watched his iPhone wristwatch vs. my kids, and the food counter attendant who was eating both times I went to the counter. The most popular section of the obstacle course is apparently broken beyond repair and just laying off to the side, which was very disappointing for my kids, and the water did not appear sanitary. For the price I would expect this place to have more shade, more seating, more grass or pavement (less dirt and gravel), and a drinking fountain or (better) a water bottle refill station.

Great summertime attraction for all ages. Helpful staff will teach you to wakeboard. Bar and restaurant are stocked with a wide variety of quality items. Beach rentals are available and aqua park is super fun. Pricing is fair and they have package deals to take advantage of. Definitely covid friendly; outdoor seating, socially distanced stickers, constant sanitizing of equipment and surfaces, and dedicated personal areas available.

Had the best time riding at Ladies Night! So many encouraging women came out to try wakeboarding, many for the very first time! It was a hot day, over 100 degrees. The Black Pearl Bar and Grill had refreshing options available like shave ice, beers and smoothies!

Gannon and cooper were patient and helpful while I tried wakeboarding for the first time! Some of the other riders had good advice and I was actually able to get up!! Thanks for a great day.
