a week agoThe parking is fantastic. The customer service both online and at the front desk is phenomenal. My kids were thrilled and enjoyed every aspect of this museum. I love the flow of their exhibits. Regardless if there are school field trips or Earth day celebrations during spring break, this museum handles large crowds of people very well and effortlessly. The dinosaur park and adventure is a well worth the museum visit alone.

2 months agoThe Virginia Living Museum in Newport News is a fantastic destination for families, nature enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates wildlife and conservation. It offers an incredible blend of zoo, aquarium, botanical garden, and science exhibits—all focused on Virginia’s diverse ecosystems. The indoor exhibits are well-designed, featuring a Chesapeake Bay aquarium, a nocturnal animal gallery, and immersive displays of Virginia’s forests, wetlands, and coastal plains. The outdoor boardwalk is a highlight, allowing you to observe red wolves, bald eagles, river otters, and even a cool Dinosaur Discovery Trail with life-sized replicas! The museum is very family-friendly, with hands-on exhibits, interactive touch tanks, and live animal presentations. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate about conservation, making it an educational experience for visitors of all ages. One thing to note is that the admission price is a bit high, but considering the quality of the experience and the museum’s dedication to wildlife rescue and conservation, it feels worth it. If you’re in the area, this is definitely a must-visit attraction for a fun and educational day out! Would highly recommend! ✅

a month agoMy daughter had a field trip here for school, and it was our first visit. This is a really cool place to bring kids to teach them about wildlife and different environments and how to keep the world clean. Really cool experience and at a very decent price! The animals were great too!

a month agoWe absolutely love this place. It’s a local gem. If you have little ones there a dinosaur park as well. Everytime we go there is something different to see and the staff is super friendly.

a month agoThe Virginia living museum is a cute little place to view some native and non-native wildlife. We loved the indoor sections that had lots of informational signage. The day we went many animals (bobcat, eagle, etc) were not in their enclosures so we didn’t get to see them. I think it should be mentioned online if animals will be out. Also, there was a pervasive cannabis smell throughout all indoor exhibits. I give five starts regardless because I’m certain if I went back at a better day it wouldn’t be like that at all. I’d leave less stars if I could write reviews for the general public that were there instead: we saw a dad touch a turtle, and a mom try to wake up the sleeping wolf by banging on the railing. Disgusting, and immature behavior.
