a year agoThe Walnut Street Dock, situated on the Schuylkill River’s north side just beneath the Walnut Street Bridge, is a bustling launch point for various watercraft. It’s a popular spot for kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding, offering Philadelphians and visitors alike a unique way to experience the city from the water. The dock also serves as the starting location for guided riverboat and kayak tours, providing an opportunity to learn about the river’s history and ecology while enjoying its scenic beauty.

5 years agoAnother hidden gem in the heart of center city Philadelphia, has kayak launch free to the public. However the closet car parking area is a 4 block walk, you will need to carry your kayak, best if you have a caddie. If the entrance gate is locked, you can usually call the security guard and they will open for you. It is a very unique perspective to look up at the city (skyscrapers) from the water. You can actually feel at piece with nature, while still observing the day-day hustle and bustle of city life still going on all around you.

2 years agoGreat spot to drop your board or Kayak in parking is a bit of a pain I ended up on 24th Str S. Water was practically like glass, no boat traffic and only a few kayaks. If you’re looking for something different drop in at night the city is so cool😎but bring a flashlight it’s a little creepy when you bump into a tree branch 👍

7 years agoWe took a kayak tour from here that went up to the waterworks. A lot of fun! Would definitely recommend! And there's a parks on tap at up at the dock this year, so you can get food and beer when you get back.
