💡Pro Tips from Reviews
- →Prepare for a structured play environment with many rule signs, which differs from more 'free play' oriented museums (Review 1).
- →Expect to pay an entry fee for adults accompanying children (Review 2, 3).
- →Upon arrival, explicitly ask staff about the shoe-off policy for children and where to store shoes and jackets, as cubbies are available but not always pointed out (Review 2).
- →If bringing a non-walking baby, manage expectations regarding the size and 'dedication' of the baby area; it may be smaller than anticipated (Review 2).
- →For birthday parties, be aware that 1.5 hours can feel like a short time for exploration (Review 5).
- →Consider not bringing excessive food for parties, as children tend to be more focused on exploring than eating (Review 5).
Things to Consider
- ⚠Heavy presence of rule signs creates a 'don't's' vibe that can be off-putting for parents preferring a 'let them play' philosophy (Review 1).
- ⚠Staff provided misleading information regarding the suitability for an 18-month-old and the actual size of the 'dedicated' baby section, which was described as a small taped-off area with a few toys (Review 2).
- ⚠Poor staff guidance for first-time visitors, not explaining how things work or pointing out amenities like cubbies (Review 2).
- ⚠Adults are required to pay for entry, which some parents find unnecessary when they are only supervising (Review 2, 3).
- ⚠The changing room and bathroom are not ventilated, old, run down, and have been reported as unhygienic by staff members (Review 2, 3).
- ⚠The party room is small (Review 5).
Price & Value
Entry costs $8 per child aged one year and older. Adults are also required to pay for entry. Some reviewers find the adult fee unnecessary, while others consider the overall price 'right' and a good value for the entertainment provided.
♿Accessibility & Special Needs
- •A changing room/bathroom is available, but it is reported to be unventilated, old, and run-down (Review 2, 3).
- •No other specific accessibility accommodations are mentioned in the reviews.
🍎Food & Drink Policy
- •Outside food is implied to be allowed for birthday parties, although one reviewer suggested that attendees are too focused on play to eat much (Review 5).
- •No general food policy for regular visits is mentioned.
🚗Parking Info
- •Located in a mall, implying mall parking is available. Specific details on ease or cost are not provided (Review 1).
👥Crowd Levels
- •The venue can be lively with kids 'running around' (Review 2), but no explicit reports of excessive crowding or specific times to avoid due to high traffic were given. Kids were 'fully entertained' for 2+ hours, suggesting a manageable crowd experience (Review 1).
🛡️Safety Features
- •A strong emphasis on rules is indicated by the heavy presence of signs (Review 1).
- •The atmosphere is perceived as very safe, with no worries about kids falling or injuring themselves (Review 5).
- •Children are asked not to wear shoes in the play areas (Review 2).
⏰When to Avoid
- • If you prefer a 'let them play, let them fall, let them imagine' free-play atmosphere, as the museum has a heavy presence of rules (Review 1).
- • If you have a non-walking baby (e.g., 18 months old) and expect a large, substantial, and truly dedicated baby section (Review 2).
- • If you highly value clean, modern, and well-ventilated changing/nursing facilities (Review 2, 3).
- • If you expect extensive staff guidance or personalized attention for first-time visitors (Review 2).

7 months agoThis is a great spot to spend a few hours with the kids. They've done great with their small space they have in about three rooms in the mall. There's a solid variety and my.kids we're going from exhibit to exhibit, fully entertained for 2+ hours. One very different thing here than at the children's museums in Mankato and St. Paul is the heavy presence of signs with rules. Check out the photos for examples, but the vibe at the other museums is very much "let them play, let them fall, let them imagine" while this place is full of a lot of "don't's". Not a huge deal, just a vibe change that was slightly off-putting.

a month agoI was very disappointed going here. I called prior to driving there to see if it would be appropriate/worth it for an 18 month old who was only crawling still, or if we should wait till he is a little older. The girl assured me there was lots for an 18 month old to do an an entire section dedicated to babies under 3. Drove there and when I got there was told I had to pay for myself as well as my son, which I thought was extremely unnecessary because all I would do is stand by him. I paid and said we had never been there, and she didn't offer any guidance. I asked "So how does it work?" and she said they ask the children to not wear shoes but the parents can (which I thought was odd because my son doesn't walk yet). Also that we could use anything we wanted in the whole place. I told her I had called asking and was told there was a section for little toddler/babies? And she pointed to the middle of the room saying "well it's just that area there". Which was a little area that had tape on the floor around it with some baby toys in it like push walkers. Definitely not what I pictured when I was told "entire area dedicated to children under 3". So I took off my son's shoes, even though he doesn't walk, and our jackets and was carrying them around as my son mostly wanted to watch the other kids running around more than anything. It was bothersome carrying the jackets and shoes when I would have to pick him up and bring him to another area. When we left I saw before the desk there were cubbies that people were putting their outside stuff in, but we were never told that was there. When we were near the front desk before we were leaving I heard the employees talking about how disgusting the nursing/changing area in the back was and how there were gross diapers everywhere, and how one of them piled them in a corner in the room for the other employee to clean. I can see how this would be more fun for older kids (like 4-10) who need to run off energy in the winter, but it would have been nice for the people to tell me a child who would be walking/running would be more fit to enjoy it, that the parent has to pay too, and pointed out where to put shoes and jackets when I had said we had never been there before and asked how it worked. Sounds like they should check/clean their changing area more often too.

3 months agoI did not know this place has been here for 7 years! I went here with friends and our kids had a blast. They have play for all levels of children and babies. The biggest complaint is the changing room and bathroom. It's not at all ventilated (looks like it's an old fitting room area) and the bathroom is old and very run down. I paid $8 per child one year and older and found it interesting I had to also pay for myself. Other indoor playgrounds it's just the children but since this is labeled as a "museum" maybe that's why you pay for yourself.

2 years agoWe have been to our fair share of children's museums and play places & this one was a delight ! It is simple but highly engaging. there is a lavish area for babies too, which sometimes lacks from other places. I thought the take-home craft idea was adorable and brought one home for my school-age son who was unable to join us this time. The price was right and I definitely want to be back with the rest of my family!

2 years agoDuring a birthday party for my one year old, we had children 1 through 13 in attendance and everyone had a good time (including the adults). The atmosphere felt very safe- not worried about kids falling or injuring themselves. The time for a private party went so quick! We were there for 1.5 hours- definitely not enough time but fun while it lasted. The party room was small but people didn't spend much time there so it didn't really matter. Next time I wouldn't bring food- people are more focused on exploring than grazing. Lots of places for cute photo opportunities.
