I took my nieces and nephews to this location. I've been to the other locations and the employees are friendly and helpful. I can not say the same about this location. As soon as we walked through the door the employees were barking orders at the kids and adults. Stand here, stand there, don't bounce the ball, don't bring the ball inside the gym, if you go in the gym.... Bring the ball to me. It was honestly insane and overwhelming. The employees were nagging and power hungry. The kids were doing absolutely nothing but standing waiting to get checked in. To make it worse, a brown skin guy came from the inside basketball court to walk outside and tell the kids their ctocks were not allowed on the court. (Which is fine as long as he says it professionally) My neice was just sitting there. The employee with small man syndrome told her to move and get off of the court. He spoke to a girl in that manner. (My niece is very passive and forgiving. So when she called me I instantly knew the man was out of line.) The kids said, "o we didn't know we couldn't wear crocks." He told KIDS, "well now you know. I'm telling you!" They ofc called me immediately and I came down and spoke to the manager who was nice. The kids repeatedly said how the man came outside with an attitude and was way too aggressive. It's funny that the lil man decided to wait until I left the area to approach children. I saw one adult with braids in the game room reprimand a little girl because she opened the door for me. I knocked on the door to come back in and the lady clearly saw me but decided to look the other way. Thankfully, the girl opened the door and sadly was reprimanded. They act like they don't want you there, it was extremely uncomfortable and unenjoyable. It's a shame the kids chose to play outside because they said they didn't want to be near the employees. The employees here are absolutely power hungry, rude and intentionally unfriendly. We'll never use this center again. I prefer the Kempsville location. Kempsville employees are phenomenal and professional.

We enjoyed our stay. The pool—our kids loved it—had plenty to keep them entertained, and the staff was helpful and kind. We later found out that they had a rubber duck collection for the kids to borrow and play with as long as they returned it afterward, of course. The shower rooms had hot water and plenty of privacy, and the facilities were well-maintained. We will definitely come back.

Dude that runs adult basketball has control issues. I came in, all teams full. Cool. No big deal. Sat down on bench to check other rec gym schedules, bothering nobody. Dude rolled up speaking to me condescendingly and said I had 3 minutes to leave? What? I get you hate your job but don't need to be rude. He's been there for a years. Always rude. And the floor stays dusty. They don't sweep.

This was my first time at the rec center, going for the pool. It is so nice!! Definitely more geared towards kids- water slide, water okay ground area both in the pool and outside. Our kids had a blast! There's 3 swim lanes for laps. At least 2 life guards were on duty while we were there for open swim. A day off for kids is $8 and for adults it's $10. Not bad!

They banned my child for something someone else did. He has been going to vabeach recs every weekend for years. They sent me video and my child had nothing to do with anything. I spoke with uppermanagment and she laughed throughout our phone call and did not want to hear anything I said. He's been banned since Nov 2024 and wasnt allowed back until the exact time our membership expired in April 2025. I look young for my 40 years so I assumed they thought I was a child by the way they talked to me in person. I can't imagine how the are treating the children at this facility. BEWARE
