a year agoBeautiful lake, pretty weedy in parts but saw some really cool fish while paddle boarding. Really lovely trails around lake and overall a wonderful time.

a year agoWingra park is a great place to have a picnic, rent a kayak/canoe/pedal-boat/paddle-board, or fish. The soccer fields are huge. Parking is crazy though…especially during the warm months on weekends as soccer families and boat people vie for the 20-25 spaces in the lot…and the surrounding Monroe street neighborhoods are a bit “parking starved “

4 months agoUnderrated spot on Lake Wingra, a bit further from downtown Madison than Vilas or the Arb, but close to some nice shops and restaurants and trails nonetheless. Park itself is small, and don't look to swim or find a playground but there is a dock and a soccer field and often better parking than other parks on the lake.

5 years agoGreat park off Monroe street. Launch is suitable for a variety of boat sizes, but great for kayaks and canoes. The lake is non-motorized so very kayak and canoe friend. Parking at the park is limited, get there early!

2 years agoGreat place to do open water swimming and stand up paddling. The water is typically calmer than the other two lakes and motorized boats are limited from creating a wake. Be aware that there is quite a bit of weeds in shallow areas.
